Mel the melleri

He's so gorgeous Maia and you are doing an awesome job in my opinion. Grumpy Cham faces are the best XD

Mel is up to 13 gm now. Just completed his 2nd shed. He hissed me this morning. It was the most adorable hiss ever.

Oh he's very handsome, great pics, love his little snout growing and the pie-crust dorsal shapes, super colouring too.
I'm a vicarious melleri keeper too :ROFLMAO::):D
thanks for sharing

I'm really in love with this species. He's still so tiny but starting to look like a melleri now. I can't wait for him to get his head flaps. He's so full of personality and I enjoy sitting and watching him. Of course only the people here understand that our chams have personality and his is huge. Hissing me this morning was hilarious and I love his jet black mouth

LOVE to see this! Wait until he/she is all grown up! Nothing is as dog-like in the chameleon world as a melleri!
That's what I've heard and I'm a big dog lover too. I've read that they're a very friendly and personable species. I have indoor and outdoor setups for everyone and I'm going to use an old parrot cage for him once he's full grown and free range him. I'm looking forward to catching bugs in the summer. My panther goes crazy over katydids and I want to see what his favorite will be. I'm thinking cicadas and I have lots of them around.

Joel also said Melleri are like dogs and Parsonii are like cats- kind of that take it or leave it whatever look you get from them:):ROFLMAO::D Just got that look from my male- looks could kill.
Cheeky little thing hissing at you- if only he knew how much he was loved!:)
It's so exciting to have one at that age and to see him grow up. Bless.

I've had Mel almost 2 weeks. He's 3 gm and loves houseflies. I'll be posting his progress as he grows in this thread. I'm looking forward to watching him grow up and I can't thank @jpowell86 for doing such a wonderful job hatching this baby. How long did it take for that pothos to get big? I want one but all the ones in my area are tiny.

Awesome Maia!!!!!!!! His little horn is coming in....I love it!!!!!

You're doing so well with him. You made my day!!! It's so funny how much they are little pissers when you disturb them. Have you realized it's all bark and no bite yet?

I should have sent you more than one.
Hearing that means a lot coming from the melleri whisperer. I was disturbing him when he hissed me too. It was right after his morning misting, which he loves, and I was getting him out to weigh him. He was sitting there with his eyes closed still enjoying everything and how dare I bother him. I mist him for 50 minutes in the morning and he climbs right up under the nozzle and sits there the entire time. Just closes his eyes and relaxes, disturbed his zen state. Definitely worthy of a hiss. Any other time of day he's friendly and has no problems with me handling him. I can even feel a little pinch when he's walking on me now.
I would've died if I had opened up the package and found 2 babies. Feel free to send me another if you decide 70 chams are too many.
