Mist King dealer woe - what can I do?

No names, but I purchased a Mist King from a reputable dealer several days ago. All went well then I get an email that they sold me something that was NOT IN STOCK. (web site showed it as in stock, I was able to order it and payment went thru.)

Anyone ever have this happen and now what do I do? I can only mist in the morning, before work and that's it. By the time I get home, its close to lights out. If I properly mist, I will have water in the terrarium and elevated humidity over night. Not acceptable. :(

I emailed them back (again, no names as it appears to be against forum policy) and asked they process my order ASAP when they get new stock. I also asked for free expedited shipping as if I wait 2 weeks for them to get it, and then another week for shipping.....

I'm hoping this is an honest mistake, web site error and the have good customer support, but any suggestions, they have my money as well. The payment already was processed.

Will this be bad for my new Cham to only have a drinking opportunity once a day and limited humidity change?
 
what was the problem again? didnt understand ur story.... as for the drinking part just get a dripper or make one....

In a nutshell I can't mist for 2-3 weeks. The dripper part is good but will leave standing water if not checked.

Can you stop the payment on your credit card and order from somewhere else?

I purchased with PayPal. Not sure how to reverse it or if I have to. I could tell the vendor to cancel and refund everything, I hope they would also refund the shipping since nothing actually got shipped. Every where else I checked cost much more and will take just as long. Guess I hope for the best and wait it out.
Not too happy on how someone can sell you something and show it in stock and then not have it- all after you paid for it and got order confirmation. I'll have to see how customer service helps out I guess.
 
I got this fix from ChamLB run your dripper so that the water collects into a bug/deli cup with the perforated lid on. The water can pool inside but there's no mess and your cham can't get in it. You will have to dump it daily but it should get you thru until your mister arrives.

I would be interested in the name of the dealer if you don't mind sharing (PM is fine). I only ask because I just ordered my Mist King yesterday and you've got me spooked.

I'll PM you. I received an email from them in response to my inquiry. They somewhat glossed over my questions and request for expedited shipping to make up for the lost time. I'm holding out that it's a glitch and don't want to openly state who they are as I still believe they will comet thru for me.
 
Not good news from the seller. They will not budge on expediting my order once they get it. They claim it will take 4-5 days from the date they receive their shipment for my item to reach me. I ordered on the March 2nd, so even by emails claimed 4-5 days (website says 5-10) I should have already had my order. They are expecting me to wait 1-2 weeks and then and additional 4-5 days. I would be happy with a simple 2 day guarantee that 2 day shipping would provide me. I'm not even asking for overnight shipping which in all reality and good customer service team would be happy to give if you compare a 4-5 day wait to a possible 18-20 day one. UNACCEPTABLE.:mad:

I'm having issues with my dripper and getting a manual method to work. I have to many plant to effectively control the flow and collect it. I also to not want to make a hole in my screen, so I'm getting water pooling up by the screen and dripping from multiple places. I think I may need to buy my Mist King from a different vendor.
 
I would buy from a different vendor and get them to refund. If they don't refund you can talk directly to PayPal about it since they have a buyer... Ummm what's it called insurance policy or something. And they can handle disputes directly. Keep the emails.
 
I think you should be able to give us the name of the seller. Nobody should have something on their site as "in stock", only for it not to be, and then not work with you after all of it.

Give us the name so others don't have the same issue.

I'm trying to find another source with one in stock at a reasonable price with shipping. I need to make some calls tomorrow. If I can find a sponsor with with the item in stock I will place the order then cancel the one I have. First impressions mean a lot. LLLReptile is blowing it with me real fast. They didn't explain how it occurred, or have not backed down on making me wait up to 3 weeks for it. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I'll continue my dripper and misting as best I can. As I sit here writing this, its 8:49 pm and my little Cham is in bed. Lights out and his temps are down to about 68 F but humidity is still around 80%. I have installed a fan to help draw more air and help dry out the terrarium. By morning it will be a dry 50%. Only to have me mist and drive it right back up for the plants and my little guy to drink until I can figure out the dripper or get a mist king to precisely control the misting. I Can't mist in evening or have the same issue with very high humidity again. Frustrating.
 
yeah..True..U can go DIRECTLY to PAYPAL and get a refund....I have done this method few times. if the vendor doesnt meet the requirement like in your case no-stock or whatever reason they have...u can always go directly to PAYPAL and give the MERCHANT NAME and they will track it down...100% u get ur money back.. no sweat..
My case went with PAYPAL HK office... both transaction i did before got refunded...(intact)

I ordered my second one from pangea reptile and had it delivered by USPS within a few days! They are pretty fast!
 
I haven't had the best luck with LLL either. Not sure if they think they can treat customers a certain way since they're well-known and know people will still order from them, or what.

I got my Mist King from Josh's Frogs. Always had good luck with them.
 
Cant believe they did that! :eek: They were always kind and replied to my emails within a few days when i delt with them :cautious: but that was back in 2013 :confused: of course nothing like that happened to me. Though i couldnt help but notice they never put any indication of a live animal on the box that my cham came in. idk if thats normal or not. :unsure: Good luck with getting all this resolved.

I just looked at his site shows 9 of the starters, 5 Ultimate, and 7 Advanced in-stock. I'll be ordering one soon as I'll be going away for a few days and don't want to rely on someone misting a couple times a day.

I got mine from Big Als pets. I was even able to use a coupon on it. This was back in June or July that I purchased

Can't get them on the phone to confirm stock, but they are $141.97 ~ $143.17 based on shipping

I got mine from Big Als pets. I was even able to use a coupon on it. This was back in June or July that I purchased
I'm not sure Big Al's is an authorized distributer. Thanks for the info, but if I run into problems, I'd like the warranty. I saw Them on Amazon I believe.


Thanks for the help everyone. I have Emailed LLLReptile and requested in clear language I want to cancel my order and expect a full refund within 2-3 days or I will open up a dispute with PayPal.


Here is my response to them telling me I would need to wait the standard shipping:
"Thank you for the clarification. I am disappointed that you will not compensate a new customer with something as simple as 2 day shipping (or better) as a token of good faith due to an error on your part.
Not giving a customer something to satisfy them for a 1-2 week delay for an order that was in stock and ordered 3-02-17, ordered and paid for then somehow turns up as "Out of Stock" speaks volumes how much customer service truly means after the sale.
I will take this into account before making any new purchases and will be sure to let my friends and forum members know of this should the topic arise. It's a shame as you are also a site sponsor to the forum I belong too. I always considered the site sponsors as the best option with the best selection and customer service.
CANCEL MY ORDER PLEASE. I will go to a different vendor. I will expect a prompt refund of the $133.98 paid to you thru PayPal immediately. Every day I have the balance on my account I am being unfairly charged interest on an item I do not have. Please let me know when this is processed so I can verify my PayPal account .
I have contacted PayPal as well and although have not opened a dispute, will do so if I do not have the full credit refunded to me with the next 2-3 days, if that means anything to you.
