Monty's X Rays

Monty went in for his x rays today. We wanted to see if he has any deposits in his joints as we were worried about gout given that he tends to hang his legs and had an elevated uric acid. Here are his X rays. The doctor said everything looks good. Poor Monty was a very unhappy camper and was not cooperating but they still got a couple good x rays.

Anyone know where good examples of X rays for chameleons can be found??

I was curious on the film.. on his front legs by the elbows there is a opacity kind of what looks like a 'knee cap" structure?? do they have a bony structure here?? any reference photos??

think trying to get a film on a slow moving chameleon is hard try filming a ferret!!

FYI we used to use a small box open on the top and bottom.. or put the small little critters in a bag.. may work and less stress for a cham?? never tried it, but using a container worked REALLY well for a whole lot of odd little animals and the wildlife I got to try to get x rays on working for the vet I used to :)

I couldn't get chief to stay still for his! Any advice?

They had a hard time with Monty too, but I think they just got him to sit still long enough. He did have a couple dark spots on his legs when they were done though, maybe slight bruising from them struggling to get him to stay. Also it was evening so he was sleepy, that may have helped a little.

You can see turds in his stomach ha thats awesome

Yes totally, I am guessing I get another fecal sample to look at very soon.

That's great news! I'm glad that things are looking up for all your guys!

Thanks Jann, I am glad things are looking up as well.
