my chameleon is acting strange.

ok but only one last thing. Something is worrying me. When i got my chameleon from the local pet store he was black and brown ... but the strange thing is that his horn is always black at the top. Could it be burned ? Becouse i got him from i place where they kept him in a 5 gallon aqarium. There wasnt enought watter no branches to hide no nothing he was standing n the glass and he had a really hot heating lamp and no uv could they burn him ?

And do you have any idea why is he eating durt ? One last question why is he rubbing his head in the glass in his cage. First hw was trying to grab to the glass and when i helped him we started punching the material with his head ? I thought he was to go out so i took him for a walk and put him on a plant next to a window and the same.He is punching the window with his head and last do i really need a heating lamp can he only be with uvb light or he needs both ?

He should not be allowed to eat dirt. That can be very bad for him. I put large river rocks on my dirt so my chameleon can not get to it.

Yes, it is very important you have both a basking and UVB, only during the day. You do not need any other lights. The temps are also very important.

I think he is going to the glass and "head butting" it because he is not happy in there. Either the temperatures or humidity are not right. He really needs a screen cage for him to be healthy.

The black May just be his coloration coming out. Veileds start showing black markings on there head. It could also be a burn but a pic would help.

It is very important to change your husbandry and get all these things right for the health of your animal. It would be a good idea to do more research about veileds.

Sorry for sounding a bit rude but it would be much easier for all of us if you went over your posts kikok1 so we could better understand you because of the drastic errors in writing. You should read some chameleon blogs or look through caresheets to help your guy. You should always look at these before you buy a new pet. Or since you're a kid get your parents to try to help you with this.

He looks dehydrated to me look at how his eyes are a little sunk in, and his veil should be fuller, and puffier. You need to get him more water maybe try putting him in the shower for about a half hour a day for a wile until he looks better.

Another thing that concerns me is you said he has bitten you gently in fact it's usually quite the opposite actually. I have had them cut the blood on me, and it wasn't even a full grown cham., I have never had a veiled bite gentile. It makes me wonder if he is weak. Just my opinion.

I have use a glass aquarium with a screened in enclosure on the top of it not saying it's the only way however it works for me.. But you need to get fresh air into the tank with air pumps I use an old c-pap machine my wife had left over after her upgrade works great to keep the air from getting stale. Please get something to keep track of your temp, and humidity it's very important. Him reaching for the glass and ramming his head could be a sign he is too hot and can't escape.

today i just made something new. I made him a new care .. I live in a house and we have room under the stairs so i made something like a cage in that space. He seems happy he has a lot of space to walk around and a lot of plants.
- I actually knew a lot about chameleon i just didnt had the necessary things wich i just got today because im not studying.
