My Custom Wood Frame DIY Enclosure

Great job! Love these threads for stealing good ideas ;-)

That's what it's here for! I know I borrowed ideas here and there. The funnest part is taking everything and mixing it all together and coming up with something all your own. I love it

Thanks guys!!! Even though it's empty right now, I love seeing it in there. Wish I could have it in my bedroom!

I really like this enclosure. It looks like a nice piece of furniture that will really show off and make a great home for your cham. Enclosures that are functional and aesthetically pleasing are few and far between. You now have one, be proud of it!

You did a great job constructing not only a suitable environment, but also a nice looking piece of furniture :D
Just wondering, what did you seal the background with? You said you just used spray paints, but I've heard the paints still release toxins if not sealed with a polyacrylic or polyurethane sealant. I used to make custom backgrounds for my Poison Dart Frogs and was going to just use paints, but instead went with cocofibre to bypass any sort of toxins the paint my lead out.

Yes I completely forgot to mention the sealant. I used a nontoxic waterproof sealer. I can't remember the name but it is one that is recommended in several posts. It's a milky liquid. I will try to find the bottle. I think I have some left in my garage

Where did your Cham live before?

He was in a smaller, more horizontal cage that was built for my iguana when I moved into a smaller place and couldn't bring his large enclosure so it was built more for him. Wasn't suitable for a wet environment. I'll post a picture if I can find one of when it was all set up

Thank you so much! Best compliment I have received!

Here is the old cage. I'd say a little improvement was needed

Very nice cage! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot! I loved your wall insert cage! I've been wanting to do a saltwater coral/live rock tank in a wall forever. Definitely after I graduate law school and make a few bucks! My house will end up looking like yours eventually ;)

He is loving his new enclosure! I'm glad he is finally big enough to enjoy it!
