I recently took my jackson to the vet for swollen gum my vet said that he has temporal gland infection.. He was given a shot of antibiotics and baytril one drop a day at home. He goes back to the vet tomorrow for his second shot.. My ? is on the same side as the infection his teeth r sticking out of his mouth? What do I do?

Sounds like there's some sort of swelling going on from the infection that's pushing the teeth out. You say he's going back to see the vet tomorrow, so just keep an eye on him until then and make sure he's as comfortable as possible. If he can go without eating for tonight, then I wouldn't mess with food. Hope the poor guy feels better, that sounds painful!

Hm.....is the swelling down right now? Perhaps the action of eating could have triggered something?

It's still swelled but nothing like it was I'm wondering if his jaw could be broken? I seen on here somewhere about someone's having a broken jaw.. I'm new to this we've only had him a couple months

Do you have any pictures? If you don't, them don't disturb him to get some because he doesn't need any added stress right now. A broken jaw is possibility......or a dislocation. Has he had any falls that you know of, or tried to eat something that was wider than the size of his head?

Some of the crickets we had got him were larger then I think he could eat so I'm thinking that would have to be it.. he hasn't had any falls that I'm aware of he's just little

Not a very good pic but if u can tell that white spot at the corner of his mouth is his teeth sticking ouy

Yeah, it's possible that he could've dislocated something while eating a cricket that was too large. I've had stuff pop out of place before.....it should go right back to normal soon. Make sure the vet takes a good look at it tomorrow though.

Ok thank you so much for your help!!

That is not a tooth. If you notice chameleons do not have individual teeth like we have. It is actually a whole bone that is sawlike. I am not sure what that is sticking out. Their pus is not really liquid, so I am thinking maybe it is pus? It is hard to tell from the picture, but I am positive that.

I'm aware that they don't have individual teeth.. it is in fact a piece of I don't know if u would call it his jaw bone or what but it is part of the saw like bone u mentioned

That is not good then, if it has gone into his jawbone. I still don't see how that could be, but I will take your word for it. How is he doing today?

If the jaw bone has been affected/broken it won't likely fix itself. It will most likely have to be removed. Your vet should be able to tell you.

He went back to vet vet Thursday and the vet said that his jaw is broken.. He is very small he only weighs 14g and she isn't an expert on chameleons so what should or can I do?

That is an impossible question for anyone on here to answer. That's a discussion you and your vet need to have.
