Here are some pics of my set up and my cham. He is a 4 mo. old blue barred ambilobe. Things are going o.k. He was getting too chilly at night (temp was getting down to 56 and he is housed on a screened in porch) so I built a temporary indoor screen enclosure for chilly nights. The only real problems I am having now (and please offer some suggestions) are that he all but refuses to cup feed and I am getting standing water between the bottom of the cage and the counter top structure it is on. I was thinking about siliconing the pvc bottom to the frame and around the drain I have as well.

Tygerr,

Tonight is going down to 64. Do you think he will be o.k. out there if I put my ceramic heat emitter on? Also, how would you suggest I get him to cup feed when he is used to only free range feeding?

64 is not too low. As long as the temps stay above 60, he'll be fine.

I'm not really a fan of ceramic emitters, even at night. If possible, I would prefer to heat up the room instead, rather than just the cage with something so direct.

Just put insects in a feeder like this: Quick Feeder for tough customers. He'll be able to spot the insects quite easily, and then he'll know what to do next...

Yes, I totally agree with your idea regarding the heat. However, remember that my cham is on a screened in porch. There is no way to totally attain perfect heat in the entire "room". I do not know what other way to go other than the ceramic heat emitter. If you have another suggestion please share. When it is toooooo cold (below 60) I will keep him in my "indoor enclosure" at night.

Thanks,

I "wuv" it too. Someone gave me the cabinet. I had it sitting in my garage collecting dust. I bought a counter top, had it cut to size and used it as a base and for the drainage and mister storage. The only problem I am running into (as stated above) is standing water between the cage bottom and counter top. I am going to try to silicone it to fill in some space.

ur setup

i know im just a beginner but if you put him in your house you wouldnt have to worry bout him being chilly. BTW i love your setup it is very neat and tidy. He has a good owner. If putting him in your house isnt an option just go with the emitter. =]

i like your setup :)

since he is outside, do you think you need the extra reptisun tube??

I do miss Ritas ever so dearly... :(

The ordinary glass will block the uvb, so i think the reptisun is a good safety precaution.
Ayiaskepi! that is one rocking enclosure!

free range the crickets/food. IMO its better for them to catch there own food, its good to test their instincts.

by the way, good looking cham!
