Nails falling off???

So my cham has been doing fine health wise, but i had him outside sunbathing and i noticed one of his nails was a little weird. It looked somewhat swollen and somewhat like it was going to fall off. But it also looked like there was one growing out beneath it. I'm about to leave for Florida tomorrow and I'm leaving him with a vet technician to watch him and my dog, so im not worried there. I was just curious if this is a common thing and if it has happened to anyone else.

I believe it could be from climbing the sides of his enclosure and getting his nail stuck in the screen, but I am new at this so I am not positive.

Getting the nail caught in a screen is a common reason for nails coming off. Can you post a pic of the nail and foot?

Def agree with the above poster. Cage climbing is natorious for short nails. Can you post a pic of your setup.
They need lots of things to crawl on to deflect them from cage climbing.

Just got back from vacation and wasnt able to post any pictures. He does have plenty to cling on including several branches and many vines. But he still crawls on the mesh and hangs upside down under his lights. His nail still looks the same. There is no swelling or any indication of infection. But it looks like his nail got pulled out of his hand a bit. I'm noticing hes having some trouble climbing so im going to see about getting him to a vet asap

Took him to the vet. No sign of infection or anything like that. I just have to keep an eye on it and see if it heals itself. There wasn't really anything they could do. He isn't in pain or anything. It's just hard for him to climb on the mesh of the enclosure. Which maybe is a good thing, considering that its propably how the injury occurred in the first place.
