I just have to ask...and I am not trying to be aggressive about it, but if she needs this much basic care information why is she going ahead and getting these so soon (Thursday)? I would be on the forum constantly in preparation for new arrivals a long time in advance. And, she's not getting just one, but three, including a gravid female? I hope she has everything set up for them in advance. It is hard on newly arrived chams to be fussing and testing their setups after they arrive. Just asking for trouble IMHO. Fischeri can be very touchy about supplementation and gutload contents. Even experienced keepers can run into trouble (been there done that with a healthy cbb).
I just don't want us to hear a future call for help when these lovely ones start going downhill that's all.
she works in a lab that has chams ( she is in charge of caring for them as well as many other reptiles) , just not fishers, and I guess an importer called her Monday AM , and told her he was getting them in , and did not want them "sitting around" in part due to the female being so gravid ( maybe he did not want to mess w/ a laying bin? ) so he offered them to her and she agreed to take them, she has the "basic" set up , but wanted to "fine tune" it- she knew I had chams, but I know they are all kept differently according to what they are, and I have never looked into them or the husbandry of a fisher- they arrived today, but the female did not survive the trip, and was dead - that is sad, but the 2 males are settling in well for her, they have eaten, and are drinking and act like they have been there all along - so that is good, I am glad she took them, but even she said she was not real happy about how the guy really did not give her much time to get ready for them -but there is the other extreme too- lol - I waited 17 YEARS - that was too long - lol ( and I was still nervous when I got my first cham )
