need help with my baby 2 week old veiled

if you put it standing up and you take out the roof and replace it with screen you will have the front and the roof of screen, that will be enough, make sure you don´t have water pools on the bottom due the danger of bacteria infection

if i do this will it be ok and does he mean on the long side

Two sides isn't to much though, he should be eating a ton and will grow a lot, as adults they get bigger than the actual length of a ten gallon tank. Chameleons are not the type of creature to buy because they are cute, they require a lot of research so please listen to all these experienced people. A 18"x18"x36" screen cage will really come in handy and is much better. If you have an iPhone or iPad download tapatalk and go to chameleon forums through the app and posting pics will be easy. Pics of the set up and chameleon will really help. What kind of calcium are you using? Also more variety in your feeders should be added. I'm not trying to sound mean but it just doesn't seem like you researched adequate care for chameleons before buying one especially at such a young age.

would a 20 gall work:confused:

By 20g, do you mean a fish tank? A 20g would only offer much at all. That's why screen cages are good, provide good ventilation and you get them retty big for a good price. If it for the mean time I would recommend getting a butterfly mesh keeper. It will be big enough for a few weeks and will let him climb instead of just being horizontal.

Hello! To me your chameleon does not look very healthy. He looks skinny and his eyes look puffy. It is a bad sign if you have to force feed him for every meal. He should have a big appetite. Do you have a dripper? He looks tiny and prob needs experienced care, not the best starter cham.
