ok so i noticed kiwi with his mouth opened 2 times today.

i didnt see extra mucus in his mouth but i did see something white inside the corner of the mouth .
could this be an infection, or reps inf ?

if i can i will post pics, sould i try to get his mouth open and see thats that white thing in the corner of his mouth ?

he doesnt make any sound, sneez ,cough etc.
damn it i cant get him to open is mouth now, maybe this could be a mouth rot.... ?
i think i a swollen area at the corner of his mouth with that white thing ...

The white thing, can you find out more about it? I have had one with mouth rot and it is not white. Mine presented as a brown color. Do you know how to open his mouth using a credit type plastic card? You need to get a good look and for us pictures are the only real way we can help. I am thinking you will have to get someone to help you do this. See if you can get more information. I will check back in with you.

ok i will try the credit card type thing to open his mouth.i hope i can
is there other method yo open their mouths ?

Yes but I get yelled at very time, I very gently pull on the slin under his chin. So people are able to get the chams to open their mouths my applying pressure at the back of the jaws. Imust be dumb because I can't get that to work either.

omfg i tried to open his mouth but he raped my hand! ill leave him for a while and get back to him later ....

Sounds like an infection to me caused by a cut from eating a feeder.
Regardless if you can get pics, a vet is in order add he may need meds so it doesn't become mouth rot.

Crap, I just ate a fruit fly...time to brush my teeth. ;)

ok after many hand rapes, hisses, tail whips ,scratches i finally managed to get his mouth opened and got some pics, i will post them later .
as much as i could see his mouth is pink, theeth look ok,no brown spots or scratches.
but the corner of the mouth where the jaws articulate is white , on both sides, doesnt look swollen .
in 3 hours i will post pics, atm i cant uload them fro my mobile

the 1st thing i did was turning off the light
with light on he has 86F at basking .with lights off he has 80F.
now its time to sleep.lights are off,he has sleeping position, but he still keeps mouth open...

here are the pics.
i guess his mouth is ok but i am worried he as a RI.
how can i tell if its URI or lower RI?
the pics are not an agresive stance .he doenst mind the phone.
thats just how he sits with his mouth open.
he did this a lot today, and did this 20 min before sleep and 10 min while sleeping, but after that he closed it,now he sleeps.
at the corner of this mouth where the jaws articule does it look ok?
i was thinking it was swollen but thats just the extra skin ?

so what do you think this is ? respiratory infection?
:( i am so scared for my little guy ....

I'm not sure what your guys has if anything at all. I'm not a vet but there's several reasons that a cham opens his mouth. They open to yawn, when they are too hot and when trying to breath when they have an RI. How are you measuring the temps? If he does it when he's basking I'd think he was too hot. I have a couple of links attached below so you can read about the RI. Also when I feed my adult chams grapes I cut them in fourths but days after the grape I doubt that it causing it. Jann

Well he does this everywhere not only basking spot.
I turned of the basking light and he still did this after 1 hour and temps were 80F.
i measure my temps with 2 analogues and 1 digital ,the 3 of the says the same.

Oh, I'm glad this is out here on the board. As I suggested in my PM, the overall temperature might be too hot. There should be around 15 degrees difference between the basking spot and the bottom of the cage. Without that, he can't cool himself down as he needs to.

Is your house 80 degrees? If so, you might need to take action to cool the bottom of the cage. Lots and lots of misting throughout the day could help with that (as long as it's dry enough where you are to let that evaporate). I put a freezer brick on the bottom of the cage making sure there are branches an inch or so above it. That gives mine a "cool zone" they can head toward if the ambient temperature is too hot (as it is right now). These are the kind I use:

The square ones fit nicely into a quart ziplock bag and work well in my small cages.

If his has the basking area down to 80, I just can't see a veiled being too hot. I would not suggest putting a freezer brick in to make it colder. I don't see how the could help at all.
