I agree we need more info but as a general rule of thumb...nothing that is supposed to be INSIDE should be sticking OUTSIDE for any length of time let alone weeks!! I think you need both a new vet (you should have have to guess if your animal had surgery...this is something you should have discussed at length with the vet, agreed to a presented procedure and have documented after care and discharge explaining how the procedure went) and I think you need a new reptile guy!! Please fill out the How to Ask for Help Form and start researching a new vet in your area...they need to have herp experience at least, ideally cham experience...I am a vet tech and wont be taking Claude to the vet I work for because she knows little to nothing about chams!

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to here that you cham is not doing well. You need to change quite a few things in the way that you keep him if you want him to survive and be healthy. I am attaching my blog below and it will give you info on what all you need and links with pictures of the items and where you can buy them. Most supplies that you need for chameleons can't be found in your local pet store. You cham needs a good cham vet right way. There's a good one in your area. I'll get you a link to the vet too.

What your chameleon has is a prolapse of one of his hemipenes (one of his two penises) then, according to your vet. He will do just fine without a hemipene, so if a stitch won't fix the problem for ever then an amputation will take care of the problem and he should have no further issues.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?glass Glass is (generally) bad, but you said exo-terra which also means it is probably too small (or will be too small really really soon). What are the dimensions?? Also realize glass tanks hold heat a little better and are useful in cold climates...but since you are in texas, this can be working against you overheating your chams tank on really hot days.....EDIT: An Adult Male Panther needs a 2foot x 2foot x 4foot tall cage (for each panther)
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?zoomed light 10.0 with a ceramic bulb for heat 10.0 is too high UVB for most uses, you should be using 5.0. Is your ceramic bulb on 24/7? They need to have a temperature drop at night; use a basking bulb during the day and (ONLY IF your temps are below 60F) you can have the ceramic on at night
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? 90-95 Lowest overnight temp? 87How do you measure these temps?digital read out I'm surprised nobody has said anything about this but your temps are WAY TOO HIGH!!!! During the day the hottest spot should be around ~85F (roughly with a range of 75-85). 90F is too hot. and that is at the HOTTEST place in his cage...and at night everything can go down by 10F...so about 65-75F at night range
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity? you ignored this question...have you even considered your humidity? it is quite important
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?fake plants live plants will help your humidity go up a bit too, so consider that
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?Texas Houston

Just a few corrections to your husbandry you might want to consider...

EvilLost has given you some very helpful information. It seems as though you purchased this chameleon on a whim, which many people do. They are amazing! What is important is that you do more research now (better late then never) because if you do not fix these very serious problems, many of these issues can and eventually will prove fatal for your chameleon. This forum is a GREAT place to learn, I hope you take advantage of it! Good luck!

Update guys ...

I took buddy to a new vet ..... And he said that he was going to put stiches and try to fix it that way... And so far his doing ok ....his new set up arrived Monday ...which is full wire mesh also purchased a eheim stream for irrigation and changed the bulb from a 10.0 to a 5.0 but still have couple of questions if u could help me out ....first question is has anyone had gotten their chameleon stiches in one side of the chameleon penus . And will this effect the chameleons bow movements .. Or can they use the restroom with other side???

Question 2 can u pls help me with his diet and how and when to feed him .......

Thanks guys

I can't help you with the stitches question, although I assume the answer is yes, he can still poop normally. Hopefully someone who knows more about that will chime in.

As for his food, since he is still a young panther he can eat I'd say... something like 8-10 crickets a day. As he gets older you may notice him not wanting to eat as much, so don't worry if by 8 months he's eating 5-7 crickets, and then 3-4 by a year. I have one who would eat until he burst, so not all of them do this but some will slow down with age.

You can also feed him (in addition to crickets) anything like superworms, hornworms, butterworms, phoenix/calci worms, roaches (like dubia or discoids), mantids, grasshoppers, etc. Most of these are easily available online from places like Mulberryfarms.com. What you want is to use at least 3 species of feeder, although 4-5 would be best. Superworms and roaches are super easy to keep and breed and they never die, so I always have those on hand and then order in crickets and anything else. So at the minimum mine get 3 insect types, but more like 4+ depending on what I order. Variety is important! Do as much as you can afford.

The insects like superworms, roaches, and crickets all need to be gutloaded. An excellent pre-made gutload that has both food and moisture is the Rapashy Bug Burger. It's a powder that you mix with water and it forms a jello type food that lasts a month in the fridge and longer in the freezer. Other dry types can be something like Cricket Crack, but you'd need to add in fresh dark green lettuce and other fruits/veggies to provide the moisture and extra nutrition. I use the bug burger if I'm feeling lazy or forgot to go to the store! lol

I think that's all I can think to say off the top of my head. Ask away if you need anything else.
