hello my name is Eddie Wilson...i just ordered a panther a few days ago..he came in the mail on thursday ..wow he is so cute..already eating and drinking fine got a beautifull green and light blue color to him already just 3 and a half moths old...i think he is gonna be a shy one cause i go to the cage and look and watch him occasionaly he will turn to a dark color on me..kind of freeks me out dont want him being stressed or anything ..anyway any helpfull hints or anything will be great help i am a first time owner..so alll coments accepted lol thanks

this is normal.hes getting used to you and his new home.give him time.they can take a while to settle.when hes going dark hes showing you hes stressed and not comfortable with you being there.he will get used to you in time.how long well no one knows.patience,love & food are the key.try handfeeding him.dont get too close.if hes not comfortable with your hand then try tongs.make sure you stay a safe distance away so hes comfortable.if he doesnt take it after a few mins then try again later.only try twice a day tho as he wont want you going in his home alot considering you needing to mist also.handfeeding is the best way to gain his trust and show him your not going to eat him and that your hands a positive thing.remember is very young and very frightened.its all new to him.it would be a good idea to cup feed him to.so you can leave him to eat on his own without you watching as some dont like being watched.some dont like eye contact either.you will learn his likes and dislikes tho.the more calm hes is the quicker he will settle.
just to check tho.what are your temps at?? he may also be cold.no harm in checking?

just leave him and just go to his cage to feed & mist.try and not go near any other time as it will help him settle.

I agree with the comment above. an when he does get use to you get a tree that you can have in ya room or where ever he is an put him on there. they can hide in it an will see you doing ya daily business an get use to ya more. ive done it with mine an now she loves to come out as she knows shes going on there. Just doesnt like going back in her viv lol an good luck to ya!!!

also has anyone ever seen their cham turn all white and have red poke adots..all over him...mine was green all day he went to sleep durning the night i turned the lights on this morning and wow he was solid white and red dots...not sure if thats bad or good but it was so beautifull

no that is normal. He will get more colorful as time goes on and you will see some of the best colors he will produce when he is sleeping!
