How exciting! You would have thought I was crazy I was so excited when my Veileds finally started hatching! Sometimes they will hang out in the egg absorbing the yolk sac for up to and sometimes more than 24 hours-they come out when they are ready! Let the feeding begin! :)

yes 1 is out and walking around. It is very early here and i cannot get food until the pet store opens will hw be ok for a couple hours like say3 hours until i can get some or shoulf i be trying to feed him something?

Oh no-you are fine-no worries-they won't even really start eating until probably tomorrow. You have plenty of time to get some by then. How many eggs do you have? Veileds usually hatch pretty close together and it will be MUCH cheaper to order crickets online. They will eat pins at first and each one can eat 10+ daily-I had 69 hatch out on me and I was going through 3-5000 a week!

Fruit flies are pretty cheap too, but they get too small very soon. Snail Tail-one of the site sponsors can ship you some pretty fast weather permitting.

Excellent then thx for the advise and does anyone hhave any more advise as to where they should be kept .Also will they lick the water off the walls like adults do or do i need a special watering device?.Any advise would be greatly appreciated being im so new at this.Thx in advance.

It is easiest to keep them in plastic totes-no lids needed-with papertowels in the bottom and plastic plants. You can lightly mist the plastic plants and they drink the droplets off of those. I watered 3X daily. If you mist the sides the pinhead crix will climb right out! Here is a picture-I had 30 or so in each bin.

Ok to answer your question from befor she laid 24 eggs it was her only batch. It looks like we get about 4 -5 of them the other eggs aren't looking so well but have not caved or nothing .Unfortunatly the mother got a sinus infection this summer and passed away as we did not catch it in time.I belive the infection came from being in the house this summer with ac on.We learned a lesson the hard way.Any other questons or advise will be greatly appreciated.
