New baby chameleon not eating

So I just picked up a chameleon from our local pet place along with, wire cage, sticks, fake vines, day light, night light. I spray him twice daily, temp is from 70-74, and he seems to be walking all around the cage, and even on the ground.
Anyways he has yet to eat the pinheads (1/8'') out of the feeding jar. Any recommendations? He's only been in his new house for 2 days so I'm thinking he's just shy for now. BTW he's about 2'' long so he's definitely a baby. Lastly I have no idea what kind he is, but I paid $60 for him. Thanks. Oh and first post of many!!

Post a picture if you can, because different chameleons need different types of temps, humidity, etc. A couple of things though: what kind of "day light" do you have for him? He needs two: one for basking, and one for UVB. Chameleons don't need a night light, so ditch it. If he's not used to eating from a feeding jar, that might be part of the problem. Make sure he has lots of places to hide and not be seen by you. If you got a care sheet from the pet store, chances are there's a lot of misinformation in it. Again, a picture of your chameleon and his cage setup would be great!

My babies like to free range their food. How big is he and how big is the cage? Fill out the ask for help form for us and please post pictures of you cham and the cage.

How to ask for help

It might not be necessary to answer all these questions, but the more you provide the better. Please remember that even the most knowledgeable person can only guess at what your problem may be. When I brought my 3 month old Male Panther home and into his new cage he didn’t eat for about 4 days. I think its just the un easiness of being in a new place and causing it not to have an appetite.

hi just got a baby chameleon yesterday and its about 2 weeks old. when i wake up in the morning i feed my chameleon with crickets. i just let them run around in the cage andthen the chameleon will just use its tounge to eat it

i have the same problems with mine, ( panther chameleons) we have calci worms, fruit flies, but i cant tell if they r eating them, they r supposed to be 5 months old but i think they r younger as they r really small.. i try not to hold them to let them get used to their new viv's. but i take them out and them put them straight back in near the food bowl but they just walk all over it and climb up the plants,

so i dont know what else to do....

lots chameleons don't eat when people are watching. Are there lots of bugs left after a day or two of feeding her??

We have 4 hatchlings that I feared weren't eating but upon searching the tank for the little dudes I spotted some baby poops lol. Then 2 days later I say one eat finally! Oh their little tongues are totally cute!

Keep an eye out for poop and such. ;)
