New cage!

I'm so excited! I finally got my chameleon's cage in the mail today. It's a DIY 24x24x48. My little one is growing so quick and I thought she deserved an upgrade (plus I just love spoiling her). I've put the cage together and have started to decorate, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to finish and introduce the little one as she is sleeping quite happily at the moment.

Any tips or hints that any of you have for setting up a larger cage like this would be much appreciated! I can't wait for the morning to come so I can continue this fun little project!

No tips but Gluck!! Tanzy is getting his big cage tomorrow also!! Send me pix when you get it set up :)

Awesome.. I'm sure she will love the new home... :D I see you're in Roanoke.. I just moved from there to Greensboro a few months ago.. Still work out that way too.. Small world .. :) Best of luck

lol Definitely a small world. I work as a manager at the Petsmart there.

Here's a picture of the new enclosure thus far. I finally get a day off tomorrow so I'll be going out to shop for some more live plants, as it's a bit barren at the moment, imo. I've got to look at some materials for a table as well. It can't sit on the floor forever.

Let me know what you think, and feel free to give suggestions or tips, I'm still new at this! =D Thanks.

Alright thanks i was hoping to use pothos myself in my cage since i have an abundance of it

I highly recommend it. My girl loves it. She sleeps nose down hanging from one of the branches, it's really rather amusing.

I use a "Song of India" tree, its very cool, safe and has lots of sturdy branchs. I get a 3 to 3.5 ft in height and it works awesome and not expensive, easy to keep. Vines wrap through it really well

Cool, good to know. I got out today but they didn't have what I was looking for and I forgot my list, so I'll have to go out again tomorrow with my list of plants to get something.

Since you're in roanoke .... there is a nursery I've gotten ALL of my plants for my dart frogs and I'm guessing they'll maybe have a ton of good plants for chams too... haven't been there in a while.... its on riverside in Salem.... riverside nursery I believe is the name .... also... maybe the farmers market downtown on market st. .... otherwise ... lowes and hd.)

I was in your petsmart yesterday... picking up some biovines you guys had on sale... phasing them out I'm guessing...

Darc, I think that's a veiled in the picture, right? And how old is he/she. He/she looks really healthy.

Good to know! I've still been searching for the right plants to add to the bottom portion of my Zergling's enclosure, so I'll have to check it out.

And yes, they are being discontinued, though I'm not all too certain why. Unfortunately they never tell us those things. >>

Yes, that is my veiled Zergling. I've had her a little over three months, so I'm guessing somewhere between four and five months old. And yes, she's very healthy and active. She's definitely much happier in her new enclosure.

I think i'm going to go w a Croton... Pretty cheap at that nursery but maybe cheaper at Walmart HD & Lowes.. Colorful and easy to keep..

:)

I was thinking about that or I rather like the dracaena, so I might go with that, because it's been very easy to find and is pretty inexpensive at Lowes. I was wanting to do hibiscus, but it seems a bit difficult to find. Though there are a few more places I can check.
