New cham owner

Some chameleons do stop eating before they shed or they dont eat as much and sometimes they just dont seem affected. Another suggestion i would make that i dont believe I saw skimming through all the posts would be to raise the cage up off the ground. They like to be able to look down on you and be above you not the other way around they will feel threatened.
btw i had a mini heart attack for a second because you have the same name as I do and same first initial last name:D
Ok thanks for the info and lol abt the name:LOL:

Hello!

I'm also a new Cham owner. We struggled with our humidity. I was not a fan of the drip system but we also couldn't afford the automatic misting system right away. We put a cold air humidifier in her cage and have it pointed towards her. Not near her basking area so she doesn't get too cold but just by doing that we can keep our humidity in the 60s. We caved and bought the monsoon maker this weekend and I have to admit it is AMAZING! The only thing I don't like is that it won't let us mist longer than 2 minutes at a time. I feel she needs longer misting sessions than that. I'd be afraid to put any large amounts of standing water in the cage with your xham for fear or bacteria of worse, them accidentally getting in and drowing. (Idk if that's something that could happen but that was my first instinct when my husband bought a waterfall for our Cham and I refused to let him keep it in the cage with her.) Good luck to you! This forum has literally been life changing for us and I just joined Friday! So thankful to have so many knowledgeable people to help keep these Chameleons healthy and happy. It's so frustrating knowing the pet stores couldn't care less that they sell you all the wrong products.

Justin,

Get in touch with the breeder. Babies should eat. Make sure the temps are right. Seven crickets in that big cage with that big croton in it is going to be REALLY hard for him to find the food. He might not eat out of a cup. Please contact the breeder. Good luck.
