New Chameleon Soon

Hi guys, my parents told me that I could get a second chameleon. There is nobody near me that sells chameleons except the pet stores with the veiled chameleons that have MBD and aren't well kept. I've pretty much been boycotting those places. Anyway, are all the site sponsors reputable and/or trustworthy? I ordered feeders from TikiTikiReptiles a few weeks ago, and never got them, or a confirmation that my order was received, or any contact whatsoever. So I'm a little skeptical about ordering a chameleon online.
Thanks,
Zach

P.S. What does it take to be a senior member?

What species of chameleon are you planning to get?

I know the sponsors are supposed to all be pretty good. I don't know what is required to become a sponsor and what quality checks are done, hopefully someone else can answer that.

I have personally had very good experiences with Panther Company and LLLReptile. I ordered two panther chameleons from Panther Company and they always responded within a day or two, shipped exactly on schedule, and had really good quality packaging. I've ordered lots of supplies from LLLReptile and they have also generally been very responsive and shipped quickly. Haven't ordered live reptiles from them though.

My guess is that being a senior member means you joined a certain amount of time ago. Also not sure though.

How's your first chameleon doing? Did you ever get him to eat?

I highly recommend you wait until you get allot more experience with you first chameleon BEFORE you get another one.

He did start eating again he loved the flies...gutloaded with honey and boiled egg just as you recommended and he started eating everything else too after I broke the strike.

Tomorrow he is moving into his big boy cage because I can't drain the bottom of the small one because it is part glass. I have a 3' ficus, to exoterra branches, and some vines ready for when I set it up.

As small as he is moving to a big cage is probably not a good idea. It's often hard for them to find their food in a large cage.

I will be cup-feeding except for the flies, and I won't have any of the branches near the bottom so he doesn't climb too low. Do you think that is ok?

I will just move the bottom of the cage (which is a separate plastic piece) and cut a hole in the middle to accommodate the ficus trunk. But I really need to get him into the screen cage.
