Her name is luna and i just got her yesterday, the guy at the petstore says she bites but when he took her out she didnt even try to, i have handled her once and i am waiting on my reptiworms from LLL, my question is: Luna went straight for the side of her cage to climb up and im trying to feed her but she cringes away when i try putting my hand where she can grab onto, should i be worried?

give it time

Nope don't be worried if she is a new chameleon it can take a couple of weeks for her to get use to you. try starting by just slowly putting your hand near her and keep it there for 5 minutes every couple of days and if she does go to bite don't give in by taking your hand away. because she can get to know that every time she goes to bite, you leave her alone. Just let her get to know that your not going to hurt her. Chameleons are quite a shy reptile and for the first month or so they will hide.

I personally have never used reptiworms. A couple other things you can use as treat's are silkworms, hornworms, super worms (very sparingly b/c they can cause impaction), butterworms. Always use crickets/dubia for the staple food and make sure that you are gutloading your staple food. :)

Is it mandatory to use a staple food? Ive done a bit of research and if i used reptiworms then i wouldnt need them, i have 25 superworms that i had gotten from my petstore until i get my order of reptiworms

Reptiworms are filled with calcium and dont need to dust them with calcium as long as you have your uvb bulb you just need to dust them with a multivitamin

I have never heard of someone using reptiworms as a staple. Most people on here will tell you that you need to use Crickets/Dubias and you still will have to supplement with calcium (w/no D3) everyday, Calcium w/D3 and Reptivit every other weekend. (Atleast twice a month). The superworms can cause impaction so if you are feeding just those and have been for a couple days.... You should stop and go get some crickets. Chameleons need specific care and as a successful chameleon owner, I would advise you to do some research on here and find out the proper care you will need to practice for your new chameleon. Pet stores are known to give misinformation that can harm and lead to death of chameleons. I suggest reading up on the link I attached.

As i posted i just got her yesterday and the petstore said they were converting to worms from crickets, id like to cup feed her but have no idea how to do so

Well there are tons of threads on here that will tell you how to cup feed.. I personally like to let the food free range in the cage (unless its Dubias) because this allows for the chameleon to naturally hunt and giving them the exercise they need....

Repti worms are fine as a feeder, also called calci worms or Phoenix worms. They should have a varied diet though, not just one kind. That can lead to fussy eaters or hunger strikes, plus they get bored of the same thing all the time.
Are you sure she's a female? Can't fully tell from the pic but looks like male markings?
Check the back feet, if it has spurs it's male.
If no spurs, female so, you will have to read up on providing a laying bin for her to lay eggs. They lay even without a male.
Welcome too! Kath.

I have superworms right now and shes in a 4ft cage, i was told not to touch her or feed her until next week

You will need to feed your insects in some way or they will not provide better nutrition for your cham. If you don't feed them they become just empty crunchy nothings.

Not feed her (or him) for a week? Bizarre advice! Set the cage up, don't fuss with it too much, mist often, and offer food in a container so he can watch the feeders move around and climb over to by himself and shoot if he wants. You can confine the feeders in a plastic deli container, a plastic box, or a deep bowl.

You won't have a healthy cham if you only feed it one type of insect regardless what type it is. Plan on using a variety of insects including crickets, superworms, reptiworms, silkworms, hornworms, roaches, and flies. You will need to feed all these insects too.

Why would you wait a week to feed her? I have a 6 month cham that would shy away from me the first week I had him. He still wont eat from my hand yet, but he doesn't shy away anymore and will let me pick him up with no problem and eats like a champ. I let him see that my hands are the ones who bring him his food, slowly gaining his trust. Just be patient and do lots of research!! I wouldn't depend on advice from a shop, even a reptile shop.:)

Yes im sure she is a female(no spurs on legs) and she can lay eggs even without a male?

From the photo you provided we can see that the size of the casque and colors/barring are very male. Another photo or two would help confirm this but from the one photo you've posted there is no doubt in my mind, Luna is male.

If she is a he which i dont think she is then thatll explain a few things but she has no spurs on either leg

I have offered her food many times throughout the day and she seems not interested in it, shes staying in the corner on her vine but thats it :/

You must be looking at the wrong thing because I can clearly see a spur on that back foot. That is a male.
