New Female Veiled - 1st-time owner with questions regarding overall setup and diet

I read that play sand can be used if rinsed. Is this correct? I know it has to be right moisture for tunnels.

Regarding the egglaying container...I use a washed playsand produced by a company named Kings. It comes in a white bag with red, blue, yellow sand box toys on the front. Make it just moist enough to hold a tunnel. The container should be opaque and at least 12" deep x12" x 8".. Filled almost full with the sand.

Are the spots turquoise blue? Does she have mustard yellow splotches on her too?

I've only used playsand because it's meant for kids so it's clean and safe...other sands have other purposes and don't have to meet the same standards.

She's not displaying the mustard splotches or blue dots in the photos so she's not likely in egg production yet.

My sister said that she looked just like a pic I sent of another pregnant cham. I will attach that pic here:

Do you know what stores sell play sand? I am calling around and can't locate it anywhere tonight. It sounds like I may have to order it online and she'll likely need it sooner than 2 days. Is there anything I could get tomorrow at Home Depot?

And how urgent is it that she lay eggs? I need to figure something out within that time frame, so please help me come up with the best idea that I can use in the short term.

She was displaying the same spots as the cham pic that I sent above in the pic titled "spotted pregnant cham." Doesn't that mean that she may be pregnant? Or do the spots have to be continuous versus just showing for a minute?

My gut feeling is that shes pregnant so I'd like to get something in there ASAP. Any idea where to get play sand or soil that is safe?

Home depot should have a (big) bag of it...they seem to stock it all year whereas other stores don't keep it out all year.

Regardless of whether she is actually gravid or not you need the egglaying container in the cage anyway so that when/if she is she can use it.

Without seeing a real photo of her infant tell you if she's producing eggs or not. Even with a real photo I can't tell you when she will lay.

Thanks so much for all of your help! You can tell I am a bit panicked. I have had hunch she is pregnant for about a week. Are the dots always turquoise and it's not possible she's pregnant unless her dots are that color? What I can find tonight is called Kinetic Sand/Beach Sand and it's for sale in Walmart kid's department, so I am assuming it is safe. Do I need to rinse it and then let it dry overnight? How can I get it to dry quickly?

I would think it's OK if it's for kids. I've never washed the sand ...if it's kid safe I figure there's no need to.

Chameleons do have a way of causing panic!
