New to having a chameleons

I could be totally wrong. I am by no mean, and expert or even close. I'm just blown away at how tiny he is. And of course, how cute.

uploadfromtaptalk1395360560064.jpg here is a pic of him right now and the other pic is his dad...is a carpet a kind of panther? uploadfromtaptalk1395360645840.jpg

May I see a picture of his butt area? Like where his tail connect to his body? I love how fast you respond

I was thinking you have a female also, but from the pic you posted I am not so sure. If you can post some better pictures of the tale base(where the vent is) we can tell you better. If your chameleon is indeed 5 months, then it should have some male coloring by now. Also, the females have less pronounced rostral(the part of their nose that protrudes) and yours does not really have one at all.

Like when you are looking from the side and its tail is straight out, there will look like there is a little speed bump. Right carol?

It is really too blurry but it does look like the indent that the females posess. But I got a feeling that is why your chameleon is so small as the females are much smaller than the males. The females also what appear to be little cirlces in their markings on their sides sometimes also.

Oh my goodness if it's a female I'm going to scream!! I wanted a female from the get go but the breeder wanted 300$ for a female and $250 for the males!! So if so I'm stoked but don't want to get to excited. My breeder has been breeding for a long time and dose all kinds of different chameleons so I'm hoping he made a mistake and gave me a girl!!

Yes, I say female!

Yay!!! I sexed my first chameleon! I knew something wasn't right. She's beautiful, but for a male she would be so small. So my carpet chameleon guess was way off....sorry about that Brianna! I'm still learning ! So....what are you going to name her!
