thanks Jann! it only took me two years. He is unbelievably sweet and docile. When I went to see him I took my daughter with me and we both knew we had to take him home. I hopefully can get the edema fixed. He was so happy in the sun today.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. Gular edema can be caused from phos/calcium ratio being out of whack. We most common see over supplementation causing this but from the sounds of it..If he was not supplementing to balance the ratio on lets say a meal worm, super worm or even a cricket. His phos levels are going to get out of control. Just with the information brought and starting process of elimination. Id start with giving him liquid calcium Via injecting a feeder if he has a good appetite. LOTS OF WATER!! If you want more ideas, i have them :) CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW BOY!!

Ps - It was destiny!

Exactly!!!!

This is why i usually suggest cutting back on supplements. Because more times than most, on here, it seems the chams are getting a lot off supplements. Check gut loads too. It can be caused by various things and is a result of improper organ function.

Hope you get it taken care of quickly! Im betting he gets better coloration with better nutrition and husbandry:)

Yay Carol! He's going to be so happy with you! My panther is currently struggling with edema as well. I personally think it was excess vitamin A in his case. With lots of hydration and worms it tends to go away almost entirely. His crix are only fed with dark greens and he has almost no supplementation. But it kind of comes and goes. Right now he has man boobs again. Hoping it goes away eventually! Let me know if you make any progress with yours! Congrats on your new edition :D
