Omg rabbit forum people rant

So.....

I have 5 bunnies as you know and I am pretty active on this rabbit forum for the past 3 years and I recently have stepped away from it because of the amount of new people constantly coming on and asking questions, arguing with us about spaying/neutering and other topics and it's just super annoying but...I've let it cool over and have gotten back into it again.

So last night I took the time to answer in depth all of this girls questions about building her own grid cage and she said she was going to use a liner in the bottom, which well......long story short the rabbit is going to have a great time shredding it up and making a huge ass mess.

So I ask why isn't she going to litterbox train her rabbit, and the question was answered back "oh well i haven't decided yet because I don't have a rabbit savvy vet" ---That is a perfectly legit answer, I wouldn't want to take my rabbit to get spayed by some vet that has no experience with rabbits either....... ok well then she cops and attitude with me and tells me not to give her the spay speech because she is WELL aware of the benefits and blah blah blah........

I know I can't hear the tone of voice in typing but it really came off so witchy and rude and I was like WOW.....this is EXACTLY why I don't post here anymore because you rabbit noobs piss the heck out of me.

Anyways......reptile forums are so much cooler instead of a forum filled with grouchy women and 8 year olds with parents that didn't research rabbits before impulse buying them for an easter gift.

I am a rabbit person myself. Currently have two (but since been ill they have been staying at my breeders house just a mile from mine) I understand the good about spaying and neuter. I will never take mine to a so called exotic vet again as they really are clueless. However I will take mine to a farm vet as they do know more about them. I did loose a rabbit within 30 1 hour of his neuter. It was horrible!!! But the whole time I worked for a vet that did alot of farm animals we did many spay/neuters on rabbits and never lost one!

Yes Dave I realize that people feed rabbits to reptiles, and they also make excellent pets.

In a snake or gators world you are reptile food too. Reptiles eat anything that they can fit in their mouth and moves. Feeding off unwanted friends to the gators can get you in a lot of trouble though.

i had a rabbit and it lived a long life died of old age never been fixed b/c i only had one. but see my mom got 2 rabbits for the kids and the pet shop told my mom they were girls well come to find out one had babies and they died mom put them in diff cages and she had more wow but the bad news is she had 2 dogs as well one chain and the other lose she wouldnt run away. (she lives on a farm) well her house was broken into but the robbers let the rabbits lose so the dog would chase them instead of the robbers. well they set traps and cought them again and it happened a again well this time they wasnt so lucky in catching them so now there living out there. they still try to catch them but having a hard time. but they been out on the farm for like 2 yrs now

unfortunately, i agree with Jack from the beginning of the thread. give it time, and you'll see the same thing here. prideful owners that are stubborn to get rid of harmful decors, will not spend the money on something that is a nessesity, or just giving a prideful attitude that they are completely right because they've kept stupid bearded dragons in the past. not only will you see it here in the noobs sometimes too, but there are also other longer members that can and will pull the same stuff too though its a bit rarer here.

i feel that way about faunaclassifieds. Most people there are idiots or........ On the other end of the @$$#¤!€ spectrum they can be stuck up know-it-alls that will bite yer head off for something as little as a typo.

Forums are forums they are open to the public so what do you expect? To call fauna a bunch of idiots I think is going a little far. I know the majority on here are over there too, and the longer you are here or in this hobby the more likely you will join fauna or use it one way or another.
