They’re a no go for chameleons, the rope they’re made of are notorious for pulling out their nails. Some members use them, but IMHO better safe then sorry.

So I found these plants that I think I can use for my cham can someone let me know if they are ok. They are not on the pictures of the safe plants for chameleons so I want to double check before doing any purchases. I have attached pictures of the names and the plants. Personally the Schefflera is the best choice of them. They get dense foliage, are easy to take for and also very important, the Cham can use the whole plant for traveling. The other plants take in a lot of space, but giving not much benefit for the cham except coverage. Plants with thorns is a absolute no-go and yes they can climb it without hurting themselves, however “when playing with fire constantly, you will eventually burn yourself” 😉

Oh thank you, yeah I didn't touch the plant soididnt realize it had thorns I definitely won't be putting anything in that does.

Would the dual be enough light for all the plants I plan on having a ton of them lol. And I'm guessing it was a yes I can wash off natural insecticide. 😉
I would recommend a good rinse for all the plants to make sure you get any residue or pests off. They always have hitch hikers. Give them a good rinse and let them sit a day or two and inspect and rinse off again. Just make sure drainage is addressed in your enclosure both for the plants and the enclosure itself. Plants will need a good bit of water to stay healthy and misting won't all fall into the pots unfortunately.

Avid plant keeper myself and have over a dozen live plants in my chameleon enclosure, the t5 alone will NOT be enough light to support much more than a pothos you will want to look into supplemental LED lighting such as jungle dawn (which others have had great success with) or something like the Sansi 70w full spectrum led (which I use for both my chameleon enclosure 2 plus a t5 plus a Basking. And also for my ornamental houseplants this light is great. Led lights like the two mentioned provided bright light that penetrates into the tank to help even your lower plants enjoy some good photosynthesis.

And yes I was going to wash them all with dish soap I believe that is what @bemen had recommended to make sure they were all safe.

I have 2 more one of them I forgot to take a picture of the plant but I can do so tomorrow if needed as I am going back to the nursery to talk to one of the employees about theirView attachment 332999View attachment 333000View attachment 333001 plants.
The ficus will outgrow your enclosure and isn't very practical for chameleon.

The schefflera is a great option the arboricola. You can also use any of the plants from this link. There are many core plants here that are safe and effective for climbing and provide shade but you'll also find other options that work for your specific climate I'm in southern California and can get away with different plants than some of the keepers in cold climates .

Pothos and the umbrella plant / schefflera are my best recommendations.
Ive had great luck with hoyas, they vine and have nice lush leaves that hold mist well they are nice as they don't get too bushy and won't shade out your enclosure. And they could flower for you

I have one dracaena song of India variety in my enclosure it's a nice color splash but not the most useful plant for Cham to climb around on .

I have a croton as well and again lovely color splash but not the most effective for climbing area and structure.

I had kept schefflera before and love them but recently switched to Rhaphidophora tetrasperma aka Mini Monstera

It love the sansi lights and has nice vertical climber vines and small leaves with fenestrations great to not totally shade out your lower levels. It's worked well for me and they love that sansi light.

If you can get enough light the vine species Mandevilla aka rock trumpet (has many varieties so your hw) is a lovely plant as is the stephanotis floribunda aka Madagascar jasmine but they really love light and the t5 won't cut it
