I have a 2 almost three month old veiled cham. I usually feed five cricks a day and once a week give d3+calcium on the cricks. I gutload the cricks with good food for my cham also keeps the cricks alive. i won't be around to feed my cham for the next four days so i decided to throw in around 15-18 cricks hoping they would last her that time. I assume she will stop when she is full. maybe 4 inches long head to tail. is this bad? * SHE has eaten about 10-11 right now and it had been a half hour*

Young chams eat around 12-20 prey items a day, you are probably under feeding her. You also need to supplement her differently. You need a plain calcium without D3 daily, a calcium with D3 twice a month and a multivitamin twice a month. I have just rehabilitated a chameleon who wasn't supplemented correctly and had both a vitamin d3 deffeciency and a vitamin A deffeciency. She couldn't eat on her own or see for that matter for about three months.

I would agree but i have a small question. My friend is an expert on VEILED chameleons and has one of his own. YOU my friend have a PANTHER, are you giving me info on the panther or on the Veiled because my friend said they require different supplements as well as food.

I agree with Andee, and I have a Veiled. The supplementing schedule, as well as the feeding is the same for both Veileds and Panthers. I mean no offense to your friend, but he might not be as much of as en expert as he thinks. You should take a look at the Veiled chameleon care sheet provided in Care Resources.

I 100% agree with Andee. Even if you don't believe him you should follow his advice until you do more research and find out for yourself.
A young veiled has a big appetite and they do a lot of growing in the first 6 months. And too much d3 can eventually be a killer.

I have rehabilitated veileds, and panther and veiled care is pretty much the same, save for a few different kind of foods, such as fruits and veggies (for veileds).
