Pet Store with chameleon

14 for most places i think , but for that petstore i believe you have to be 16 because of the liability or whatever like i said before.

I sure hope so....he lapped up that water, and i think they were amazed, ill post pics of him if i can next time i go.

Well, i am 13 :p I cant get a job but i always have my reptile store call me if they have a busy day, or get a shipment of snakes or lizards, in, the best thing is, they get a shipment of 5 panthers, all beutiful oranges and blue barred and ambilobes, and also some vields, i always get to set up their cages and stuff, and take them out of the boxes out them in mist down the enclosure, and see if they will eat, we got an adult in the other day:eek: oh my god, the thing ripped apart my finger:)

way to go. I'm glad that went well for you. I work at a local petshop and although we don't carry chams at the moment we carry many other things. And they too had no idea how to take care of them. Before I worked there a girl told me they killed about 20 baby veiled. i felt so horrible for the little things. I studied up big time and learned alot on the husbandry of all the reptiles we carry and straightened (only a few) improper things out. I was a little ticked that MY petstore was useing improper husbandry but atleast I work there now and can save a few animals lives.

jackson

I recently went to my local PetCo store here in Concord NH and was appalled at the conditions a Jacksons chameleon was living in. Similar situation with the enclosure being too small, glass, low heat and humidity. They were feeding this chameleon crickets larger than the chams head and providing water via a watr pool. Im too sure if the chameleon is still there but I want to smack a few employee in the face though.

Good job helping out the cham. I usually just get kicked out (or fired (week before I started university too)) when I try to correct something like that.

Petstore that I go to is family run. It's odd, when the first started out they hired the manager from a local PetValu, and a few local kids. The store was small, but everything was kept in great shape. Then they expanded and moved. They stopped hiring local kids due to rising thefts, but kept the old manager. While it took longer to get feeders or supplies, they still carried all the high end brands (Zoomed, Exo-terra), and at pretty good prices for a retail store. The quality of the animals started to drop however. After 2 months they dropped the manager and went it alone. The've stopped carrying good supplies, and I wouldn't even think about buying an animal from them anymore. I saw an adult veiled in there about 20 minutes ago, in a 10 gallon tank, knee deep in mud, the only vine in there had sunk into the mud long ago.

I've tried talking to them a few times, but they always make some excuse, or try to pass on some "knowledge". If their bugs weren't cheaper than what's on the net I wouldn't be going there at all.
