Panther 11 months

Handling - very minimal maybe a few times a week

Food - Fed primarily crickets every other day gut loaded with carrot, sweet potato, greens, melon, grain and substitutions of brewers yeast, kelp, spiriluna and bee pollen.

Sup - Rep Cal D3 and Herptivite twice a week

Water - Mistking 5 times a day for 3 minutes. He drinks consistently

Fecal Description - Poops regular with good brown color and good size. :D

He has been dividing his eye sometimes but I have never caught him rubbing or scratching it.

Cage Info:

Cage - Screen 4x4x2

Lighting - Reptisun UVB and Exo terra Halogen Basking Bulb. Plenty of layers to regulate his temp. 12 hours on 12 hours off.

Temperature - 95-74 and 70-75 at night.

Humidity - 65-50

Plants - 1 pothos to drink from

Problem - It seems that my panther chameleon Beetle is having a bit of an eye problem with his LEFT EYE. It seems his left eye hole is closed a little smaller than his right. I haven't caught him scratching it or doing unusual behaviors. I have noticed him dividing both his eyes and possibly trying to flush it with his mist set up. I have a few pictures to post and hopefully someone has some advice for me.

Part of your issue could be the fact that you are over dosing him on d3 and vitamins.

He needs a plain calcium with no d3 for every feeding, and calcium with d3 twice a month, and a multivitamin twice a month.

he could also have a vitamin A deficiency, which is not uncommon in panthers.

Do you have any blogs on your supplementation? I was recommended by screameleons to use D3 twice a week and Herp once a week. I also feel positive on my vitamin A intake. I always prioritize my vitamin A rich foods first on my gut loads. I haven't seen any discharge or crust either coming from the eye. He hunted well on his last feeding day. Could it be possible that there is irritation or possibly something trapped in his turret? Any supplementation info from you would be greatly appreciated.

Place a plant in your shower on the floor.

aim your shower head to above the plant but aimed at the wall, so the water will bounce off the wall and the mist will land on the plant.

place him in the shower, on the plant, and watch him.

make sure the water is warm, but not hot.

don't leave him.

do this for 15-20 minutes.

this is also a great method for when chams get dehydrated.

Thank you very much I'm going to try this!
