Possible Prolapse?

My girlfriend was putting her chameleon to bed last night (he will come out of his cage, climb the blinds, and sit on the window frame) and to her surprise there was "something wrong with his butt". She sent me this picture (attached) and I've been trying to get into this forum ever since, but JUST discovered the confirmation email in the junk box. Prometheus is a veiled, almost two years old and approximately 17in. long with tail. He eats between 6-8 large crickets daily, but will often skip a day of eating if he wants to be out of the cage. He's a picky eater, and doesn't like any other proteins. Every other meal, the crickets are coated with ZooMed's reptivite reptile vitamins with D3. I'm waiting for more information from her and Prometheus, and as I get more information about him I'll update this post. She has been misting him 5 times a day since noticing the prolapsed area. He is still active and traveling inside and outside of his cage. We had difficulty making a vet trip work today with professional schedules, but he will be going tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jacq and Dan

That almost looks like a seminal plug that didn't fully come out after a BM. You are for sure he is a male? Make sure to wait for other input as well, as I am a new cham-keeper as well! Good Luck with your scaly baby!

A couple more pictures, and he is currently getting a sugar water bath. He isn't even struggled and she said he actually feels relaxed!

Yep, definitely male

Either you can risk attempting to pull that yellow crusty bit out of him, or leave it up to your exotic veterinarian, which is more highly recommended. I just very gently removed a similar looking bit from my boy. It was just a bit of seminal plug on my boy. Perhaps it's the same for yours? Be very, very gentle with him if you try. You could harm him greatly. It should be able to slip pretty easily out if you gently hold his cloacal vent flap and pull the plug, if you will. If it seems really stuck, let your vet take care of him. Again, I recommend letting your vet take care of his problem, but if you would like to try, take great caution!

Upon further examination of your pics, I see something that looks like dry blood. I wouldn't try to mess with it on my own. Let your vet do the work, if possible. It's the best option, I think. Here is a pic of the seminal plug I pulled from MoJo's hemipenes.

And here it is before I pulled it. It wasn't as severe as your boy's.
