Possible R.I?

I don't have any pictures, but I'll upload one if I see him opening his mouth again. I walked into the room and he was just starting off into the distance with his mouth open. When he saw me he kinda jumped a little than calmed back down. I haven't seem him do it since but I know they're masters at hiding illnesses, which leads me to be worried

I turned on a heater in my room and brought the temp in his cage up to 80. I'm keeping him well hydrated. Should I take anymore precaution's? My nearest cham vet is 2 hours away and I wouldn't be able to find time to take him until sometime this week.

It might be the start of a RI. I would try to see if any excess mucus is coming out of his mouth. For now, don't use any aerosols or chemicals near the chameleon's cage. Try not to get the water to fall on his nose so he can breath well. Hopefully, he gets better!

What do you guys think? Any signs of an R.I.? He held his mouth open for like 5 seconds when I backed up. He looked at me then closed it : l

I think they wheeze a bit too when they have an RI.

I catch my guy with his mouth open occasionally, he shuts it after a while & alls well. Worth keeping an eye on him though

You can't see his tongue but it looked fine as well.

EDIT: Also, his hisses weren't very long. It was more of a short "ssss". Not a normal "CCSSSS" with alot of wind power. If that makes sense
His grip was a little weak as well... his urates were white this morning so I dont think he's dehydrated.

i had something like this a week ago with my veiled.
i thought it was a starting RI.
he didnt had any mucus excess , no sneezing , no strange sounds,just his mouth opened.
he stayed with his mouth opened for minutes.
after 3 days he was back to normal.
i gave him showers and misted him with warm water.
i hope your boy doesnt have RI.

Thanks for the words of encouragement Arnau. I'll give him a shower in a bit and I'll keep a close eye on him

I got him in the shower and I snuck in and caught him with his eyes closed enjoying the water. His mouth wasn't open, and I would think it would be open if he was in there. I'll keep you guys posted if I see anymore problems
