Preparing for my first chameleon, tips appreciated

it's heptivite so a definite no on the vitamin A sadly, my favorite supplements are repashy, but since she is getting semi-regular sunshine then I wouldn't want to give her that much D3 that often in a dietary form. So I would buy a reptivite vitamin of some form. If you get one with D3 just replace the calcium with D3 in her diet with the reptivite and only do it twice a month as usual
That what I use is repashy . I also do retinal palmitate once a month . Started with Septiceye recommended by Matt . Definitely see a big difference with Frances .

No, because she is getting so much sunlight, repashy is an all in one and is meant to be used all the time and has everything in it. She is making all the D3 she needs right now most of the time

I think my brain fizzled and popped reading that response, Andee :ROFLMAO: I had to read it a few times.

I am so far only using the cal w/o D3 for her due to the T5 bulb and sunlight. Would it be safe to use repashy if I continue using cal w/o D3?
Not the plus it has D3 in it . Also she just had a shot of vitamins .

Heptivite is usually fine if you have a healthy reptile but she started out with eye issues and may have them the rest of her life.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about doing any D3 or preformed vitamin A right out of the gate, probably in a few weeks you should start again with the preformed vitamin A and then maybe D3 once a month very lightly depending on the amount of outside time.

You can use it in your bug gut load though . I make my own then freeze it looks like this .

As long as she gets 30 minutes every other day she won't need D3 at all... around fall to winter time as it gets closer to scraping by maybe with an hour or none then you start doing light dustings either once a month or twice.

Go for reptivite w/o D3.

sounds good.
I peeked on her at lunch. She was just hunkered down by her drip area looking around, food cup is empty. Mail hadn't arrived yet as I was a tad early on lunch today due to a meeting.

My young beardie is going to need an enclosure strip down I think once I'm home. There's shed pieces everywhere, food scattered, loose crickets hiding, and she pooped on her hammock.
I think if it stays sunny like it is now there will be lizard play time in the tents this evening

She will think she's starving all the time anyway no matter whether she has eaten or not. When she starts having to go on juvenile female diet she is going to hate it. All the girls do XD

Isn't that the truth . The little girls are hardy eaters for sure !!.

I hope her gusto for eating stays strong and she's willing to try the new nummies!
Especially the hornworms. I would love for her to eat these hornworms. I want a pet that eats these and actually likes them!

I'm sure she will . The only thing that might happen is she becomes selective wants worms over creckits and roaches . The little girls are good eaters , They love to eat !!. As she gets older you will have to cut her back to maybe 7/8 feeders a week to keep her clutches smaller . Laying takes a toll . You will want to keep her clutches small for her health . Her temps as well lower 80s . You have a bit of time before getting ready . First get her strong . She's well on her way :).
