Preparing for my first chameleon, tips appreciated

Guarding her new spoils.

The enclosure is directly across from a large north facing bay window which I'm sure the plants appreciate. The hibiscus is blooming nonstop, the pothos I see is making new leaves. So far so good

Busy night!
Both dragon enclosures are cleaned, had to dismantle Mamools enclosure to fix a drip situation, sold my old dishwasher, used that money to buy her a little shower/outdoor plant, bought crickets, finally getting dinner.

Water was dripping out the enclosure near the electrical  had to immediately resolve the issue. Should be solved now, that's what I get for carelessly allowing my drip system to deposit wherever.

Stuck Mamool in the pothos. She had maybe two hornworms and four Waxworms today. I'll need to make sure she didn't get too addicted

I guess so good thing you are handy :D . Our enclosure day was yesterday for us . Usually on Sundays we clean enclosure. As you know with beardies cleaning can need to be done anytime .

My little beardie has coccidia and her enclosure was a catastrophe.
I always spot clean with f10 but sometimes she chooses to poop on porous areas, so I had to remove a lot of stuff to properly disinfect. Squeaky clean!

And the big one knocked over a lot of stuff so I just cleaned his too since he already dismantled it for me.

I wasn't able to get Mamool outside but at least she got new tasties. Should be easier tomorrow with all the cleaning done

I use either bleach and water or peroxide deluded . Or I should say developer . It really kills everything I have not used F10 . Do you order it or can you get it where you are ? I would have to order it but the developer works great .

I used to use bleach water to clean but so much hype about F10 that I bought it lol.

I bought a concentrated solution from Amazon and mixed it with water in a spray bottle

Bleach doesn't kill coccidia, the high stength peroxide usually does a decent job. I don't remember what F10 is? does it go by anything else? Ammonia is one of the best killers of cleaner resistance protozoan like coccidia. Their outer... (don't remember the actual name) "skin" makes it hard for most cleaning things to penetrate. Crypto is similar.

The developer to kill coccidia has to be over 60% which would be 16% Peroxide . Our state one has to be license to get developer . Not all states do . Our state is pretty strict . F10 a lot of vets use . I always have it o hand at my shop 20 40 80 and 100 .

F10 is a vet grade disinfectant though I'm not sure of all the specifics, but from what I understand it kills coccidia.

I gave the Pacman frog a waxworm, his first ever, and he loved them. I gave him five since Pacman frogs tend to get very fat as is, but it was cute to see him enjoy them also :)

Yeah just make sure to kind of.... what would it be.... be light handed with the fattier worms. Most of us don't give waxies more than a couple times a month, though I don't see anything wrong with two weekly.

No problem, I know they're the candy/ice cream of the feeder world.

I ordered 250 because it was a better deal than for 50, and I figure I have plenty of critters to enjoy them. I also hear the beardies love the moths, too, so that may be interesting. If I can't feed them off fast enough I'm sure the local birds would love them, too.

This is only the second time I've ever ordered these plump little buggers.

There very easy to breed too . Do you know what to feed them ?

I've never even considered breeding them since I rarely use them, but it may not be a bad idea, or at least to look into another feeder to breed

No clue what they eat lol

Lots of Honey let me find the recipe and I will ill post it . When you get the moths what ever you keep them in make sure you screen the drop they will eat right though lids , then head Street for all your clothes .

Wax worm food -
Oatmeal , Honey , corn syrup mix 50/50 .
Bee pollen 1 teaspoon per cup Oatmeal mixture, 1/2 cup beeswax . Mix all above together . Will be sticky you want mixture to clump with air pockets . 2 inches in bottom of a container. You want at least 10 inches from food to lid the moths have to fly to be able to mate .
