Preparing for my first chameleon, tips appreciated

I take them down and bring them inside. They pop open like an umbrella and fold down like one, too. Extremely easy, and come with carrying bag and stakes if needed

They're super useful, the only issue would be trying to retrieve them from the tent, as the only way in is that small circular zip up entrance. I can fit inside, but I've been able to get them out without having to lol. Otherwise aside from just basking outdoors, I had travel in mind. Throw down a fleece blanket or towel, pow

Pow is right lol !!.

You might want to look into eye lubrication, just to see if it helps for a bit. If you are interested in it I can direct you to the kind I buy (I get it a pharmacy). Her eyes may be dry currently and she can't get them moist enough to make up for it currently. some regular lubrication might help with eye health.

She may not need prescriptions but need some general eye maintenance.

This is what I use for Ryker.

This is what you generally want to look for with eye lubricant in human pharmacies:

Active:mineral oil and white petrolatum

Inactive: lanolin alcohols

It's a gel that when they close their eyes I draw a line or a decent glob on the opening of their lids. They will then open their eyes naturally and "rinse" their eyes with it. It helps with general eye health and dryness.

She got her vitamin shots right? And you have reptivite now? You may want to do just a light dusting of her next feeders (only like partially of them) to see if she just needs some extra vitamins. We don't know how low her levels were to begin with.

Good luck sweetie, report back with results, crossing my fingers all will go well. She may not make it easy, just to warn you.

Yeah this is sadly one of those times where stress is necessary, and she may be grumpy at you for the next few days etc, while you have to do it. You may have to do it on and off through out her life but I don't think it will be a constant necessity like it will be during the beginning.
