Preparing for my first chameleon, tips appreciated

The video freezes up about halfway into because my phone got a notification but picks back up.

I got the CVS brand eye lubricant, put it on her little squinty lids, and she doesn't know what to think. Hug finger and wait.

She licked her lips a few times and I'm seeing little to no gooey in her mouth, good sign

Some saliva is normal and expected. It's when it's super thick or discolored that you need to worry. But the fact that she's not acting herself and had some other symptoms is when I just worry in general. Did she take well to opening her eyes with the lubricant on?

A little saliva is normal . Runny nose is worrisome so it's great she will have another vet visit . If you have some time you can bring her out maybe she will hang out on your hand for a bit . The ointment may take a few min to melt . She may not be able to see till then well just make sure she stable on what ever she hanging out on .

I'll likely lower the watt anyway. Originally it was a 40w and it burnt out, the only bulbs on hand were 60w but the temp gradient was about the same either way so I left it

Just for confirmation, lol
Not to bad if it's 90 or above it's to hot and that could be a cause for gaping . They regulate by gaping , still 84ish is ideal for a female especially once she starts producing eggs , if you can just pull the light up an 1/2 inch it probably will bring temp down the few degrees . Some times chameleon blow salt out of their nostrils . It's white , would not be discolored or pink . The mucus I can see in video is clear that's good and you hear no popping and she's not making bubbles correct ?

Not that I've seen or heard. Stuck her in the pothos, the nightly tradition, and she seems very happy. Hasn't been gasping or anything like that. Seems the lubricant finally settled and she can see ok again

The lubrication only needs to be applied once a day. It's why I use it for animals. If it were drops it would need to be applied twice a day.
