Quick question about uv for our friends

Hi Everyone My grandson got a Veiled Chameleon for Christmas. Its about 3 or 4 months old now. So we are keeping it at my house and we was wanting to build a nice place for it in my living room. (Hubby is good at building things) Which is best glass with mesh wire at top and bottom or All Screen ? Also I herd a plant light can work for the basking light is that true? I am wanting to fix it up with air plants and with very very small waterfall on the back side. Thanks

I have heard that but in all my years of keeping chameleons in glass cages I haven't found it to be a problem if the cages are set up well.
