Randomly Lethargic and Sleepy

So sorry for your loss. I know how you feel: Our beloved Greeny passed away all of a sudden in December. Just overnight and he was only 3.5 years. My kids grew up with him around. It is cruel. But there is so little we can do. We all get so attached to them as they are such wonderful creatures.

Thank you. Yeah I never thought I would be this upset. Its crazy

If his eyes are sunken below their usual levels, an you haven't been misting him by hand as well as with the mistking for a few days then he is probably dehydrated. Any yellow in the Urine also points towards dehydration, as does the weakness and lethargy. Also, How old are your UVB lights? If the bulbs are over eight months to a year old, the decreas in energy could mean that he is not getting enough UVB exposure. The energy decrease could be the reason he's not showing much interest in his mistings. In which case it's time for some new bulbs.

You should extend the mistings to about two to three minutes every five hours, make sure he's getting enough of his multivitamin, and take him by a vet just to be sure! Let us know how he's doing!

Thanks for the help, but he passed away yesterday afternoon.

Hey Lindsey, I am so so so sorry to hear about the passing of Rango. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this thread. And just the other day I had been looking at photos of him with a christmas hat on and he looked adorable!

I have also just lost my veiled cham today and I am so sad that it feels as if my heart has been ripped out. I am starting to think that we are not meant to keep chameleons in captivity.:(:(:(

Thank you, I cant believe it either. He was fine last weekend and all the sudden he just went down.

Do you know how your cham passed? sorry to hear about that aswell. :( they are such high maintence little things.

sorry to hear that he didnt make it.
thats often the case, by the time symptoms begins to be obvious, the condition is usually acute.

just for future reference, your comment "all types of greens", just because something is green , does not make it cham healthy. there are many types of greens and many of them are not cham healthy, some are high in phosphorous, oxylates and/or goitrogens.

imo hydration is far more important than humidity especially veileds which come from fairly arid regions. there is a member here that has raised exquisite jacksons in 45% humidity.

just because you cant get your mist king to do what you want it to, does not mean that it wont do it, the only way to know what it will and wont do is to consult the manual for the specific model of timer you have, if you dont have the manual, it it almost certainly available online for download at the manufacturers website

loosing a cham sucks.
if you have other chams or are considering getting any, i will be glad to help you with some of these issues before they become a problem.

I know you're hurting. When you are able to please let us know what the necropsy report shows after it is done.

Again I am so deeply sorry for your loss of your precious Rango
