So I was helping out Bill Strand at his booth this weekend during the Reptile Super Show. Doing this allows me to come out of the cave and hang out with normal people (being those who like reptiles).
Our booth was next to a chameleon rescue, one I was not aware of but then how often do I ever need a rescue anyway?
And so I met Elisa from Chameleon Education and Outreach.
In talking to her I saw she had this just bold and hefty Male Quad. He had a sad story to say the least being originally from an illegal shipment that had been confiscated by Fish and Game and then placed in crappy home. Elisa had nurtured him back to health over a long period. Many of you remember Ming who despite having a bone infection he survived over a year with the help of Dr. Greek. So after losing such a great cham after that struggle I was tossing around the idea of letting go of the Quad project and just focusing on Atlas. Lo and behold I end up sitting next to this Quad with a great personality.
Yeah I ended up adopting him, I also had a spare quad habitat for a female needing a home too.
So I'd just say it was meant to be. Weird huh?
Over the time I was with Bill I watched Elisa spend two full days speaking with and educating people about chameleons. Sometimes her booth was so packed you'd think they had things to sell. Lots of effort on her part to combat the plague of uneducated customers out there.
