Rescued veil

Hey guys.. I'm pretty new here, but been herping for a long time. I've just acquired a veiled from someone. They fed it 2 times a week and he looks like he could use some misting. However he is quite active, though I haven't seen him eat (got him today). Anywho, I built a custom 3' 2' 2' screen viv. I have a vine coming so it will be more full inside (see picture). He was nice and bright on the way home, but since he's been in the new home, he has been rather dark. I'm sure it's just stress from the move, but if anyone has some hints to make him feel more secure I'm all ears =)
First pic is my wife with him on the ride home. Second one is the cage.
Thank you so much!

Just make sure his temps are correct. Maybe some real plants. But I'm guessing some time to relax is all that's needed. He's a pretty looking guy!

Just checked on him, bright colors =)
Yes I'll be adding to his cage as soon as the vines come in the mail.
Phew, I feel better now!

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on your new cham, he looks very healthy!

Good job on the custom enclosure :) We are here to answer any questions you may have..

Haha nice. I didn't quite get it either til I looked at the avatar...

Thats a beautiful enclosure and a beautiful cham! I really like the "homey" feel of the cage. I'm not speaking from experience but I bet he would like it if it was elevated on some sort of table or platform. From that picture at least it looks like its on the floor. Cheers!

Haha, yeah me and my wife are on the forum.. Sorry for the confusion!

Shakespeare is on the floor, however it is up in the loft above the living room, so he should feel pretty high, I believe.
He is dark all day again, and hissed at me.. So we've hung towels on the sides to give him his privacy. I did manage to get a large pothos into the enclosure, so hopefully that'll give him more peace of mind.

He certainly is making us grateful for our Senegal, who is so sweet, bright and eats like a champ!

Best,
Kody

Ok, so once again Shakespeare is brightly colored since the lights have been out, he's sleeping. But, like this morning, I imagine as soon as I get up he'll go back to his dark, stressed state. Just wanted to post this to make sure it's only being in a new home. I imagine since he gets all nice and pretty at night, temps humidity nor parasites are a concern..
Thanks!

Your wife is cute ;)

And so modest, too! :p:D He He...

What kind of UVB lighting are you using? Can't tell from the pic, but I would suggest a tube UVB for better exposure throughout the enclosure. It looks really nice and I cant wait to see it with all the vines and new plant! I would also suggest raising the enclosure off the floor if he still seems a bit stressed after a couple more days! He looks like he enjoyed the ride! ;) Best of luck with him .

Just took another look at the setup and now I see the "loft" part. Should be fine I would think! Again, best of luck!

I'm starting a new forum.. come join its @ mywifeiscute.com :D ;)

So.. yes the uvb is a coil  , only until today or tomorrow when my 24" 10.0 gets here though.
He's not eating, and turning sideways when I come in... s l o w l y .. to try to give him crickets. No avail, so I left a couple in there. And he's all dark again as soon as he woke up.
I have to sneak out at midnight to get a peak at him in full color... haha.

The loft gets warm so I took out the heat lamp, it stays between 75 - 85 during the day.. plus he's still got the towels on the two public facing sides.. so he should be nice and comfortable. bigcage.jpg
