Get a child safe door you can put up. I bought one for about 50 bucks off amazon that has a swing door that locks but I can get open and my dog can not. Because you really need moving air... Stagnant air in the room will not be helpful.

Make sure the humidifier is a cool mist and not warm mist.

Even though you think being near the window is not a problem, I would move it away from the window.

May I ask what the concern is about it being close to the window? This will help me to think about where to better place it. Thanks

Even though you don’t think there is a draft, there can be a difference in the temperature and a “draft” that you might not feel. I’ve heard about it happening quite a few times that chameleons whose cages are by the window in a cold climate come down with a RI.
