Shipping problems?

Hi, I'm a first time keeper for my Veiled chameleon which I'm still waiting to be shipped to my house.. It was shipped out yesterday by way of overnight ground shipping and it still hasn't come in. Its been over 24 hours seance he was put in that little box and sent out. I doubt he has any water, probably no heat source and I'm sure there isn't any food for him. Do you think he will be ok? I already know that hydration will be an issue, and I have everything set up to get him re hydrated as soon as he gets here but what else should I be ready for? I'm worried that he wont be alive when he gets here at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
 
who did you get it from?

do you have the tracking number to see where its at???

might need to call the person to see whats up
 
I got him from LLLReptile.com Ive heard good and bad things about them, but so far they have been totally helpful with me in regards to my cham. I tried calling but they have already closed for the day. And I do have a tracking number, would you believe he was in Memphis for over 14 hours! 8 Of which was just sitting at a Fed-X station! I have no idea whats going on with Fed-X but I sure hope they sort it out soon.
 
No news yet I'm afraid. From what Ive gathered Fedex has stopped running for the night, and with any luck he should be here before tomorrow afternoon. Im worried about him staying in that box all night, in WV its around high 60s right now and hes still just a baby. But I have my emergency kit all ready and his enclosure will be warm for him when he gets here so here's hoping. Thanks for the concern, Ill come back online and post an update as soon as hes home and taken care of.
 
-Update!!-
Hes finally here! The poor little guy spent around about 48 hours in a little shipping box, he was mildly dehydrated and extremely cold! He took off up the side of the enclosure as soon as I got him inside. I tried misting him along with the enclosure but he started changing color so for now I guess that's a no no. Thanks for the reassurance and concern everybody.

Great news ! Let him warm up and you should also try and warm his misting water. He may feel abut more comfortable with that. Post pics of him once you've let him settle in a bit :)

Sure thing! ;) I think he is just so cute!!
I heated his misting water until it was just a bit above room temp. Ive heard to get it quite a bit hotter than that, but I wanted to go slow with anything that could burn him. Also, hes hanging right below his UVA/UVB bulb. Ive seen some nasty pix of chams who had UV burns, can it hurt him being this close??
 
What type of UVB bulb is it and how far away from the branch is it? Also how hot is his basking temp? Should be 85 degrees or if he's a younger Cham ( 2-3 months) then 83 is fine.
 
He seems to have the habit of hanging by the mesh directly under the light. Im pretty sure the uv bulb brand was Repti Glow and it was advertised as UVA/UVB but it didnt say much about spectrum. Its the long tube lite with a hood, if that helps?

Also basking temp is about 85 at the highest, but seance he started climbing the mesh I added another thermometer at the absolute top of the enclosure and it reads at 95. The bulb is a full foot above the cage. Once he warmed up though he moved away from the basking bulb and under the UV
 
I wouldn't worry about it. If he is getting to hot then he will move away from the heat. Your UVB light sounds good too.
