so reptileforums.com is not working for me. Iv bought a pinkey and it seems very large for my baby corn snake. its about 2 times the size of the corn snakes head, will it be able to eat it?
ya the pinkey is a bit bigger than thoes in the video. I asked the pet store for the smallest ones they had and they brought them and i said can a baby corn snake eat them? and she said yes how big is it? and i said about half the witdth of my pinkey finger witch would be about just over a 1/4 of an inch and the pinkey is about 3/4 or a litttttttle bit bigger. Ill take a picture
Hi,
This may sound gruesome, but try cutting the pinky head off and offering the head only. This is a trick used for feeding small milksnakes that are half the size of hatchling corns.
I've always wondered this seeing those tiny corn snakes at the pet store, that couldn't possibly eat a pinky. Can they eat anything else when they are that small?
I forget the size of our baby corn snakes when we got them years ago, but we were surprised and amazed that they could eat a pinkie being as small as they were. Remember that their jaws detatch and can open at a nearly 180 degree angle. I find that with snakes, if they can't handle it, they won't try beyond a certain point and just spit it out.
