Switching From Crickets to Dubia...Tips and Tricks?

I am having a hard time switching my 1 1/2 yr old Ambilobe over to dubia.
His previous owners gave him gut loaded crickets and super worms.
He doesn't seem very interested in the dubia at all....just looks at them in the cup but doesn't eat them.....As soon as he sees a cricket...BAM! he eats it. Any tips you can offer would be great :) Thanks in advance!

New Hunger will be your friend

Exactly.

Stop feeding him for about 2-3 days and then offer him the Dubia. They can go quite a few days without food so you will be fine. The key here is to make the chameleon hungry. That way he will be more willing to take the food items you offer to him. Works like a charm.

Mine would not eat them till the cham was an adult, and i guess he just thought eating a dozen plus crickets per day was a hassle, so he started eating 2-3 adult dubias a day.

You might try a trail mix approach with supers/crickets/dubia in a cup or screen feeder.

My advice would be to probably consider using a feeder cup with the roaches. They are quite good at hiding, much better so than crickets. I've pulled out plants and found a bunch of roaches hiding in the soil or on the bottom.
