Tanzania open for exports again?

I tried looking up this info but had no success.... Big Apple Herp is claiming to have WC R. Brev's from Tanzania in stock but I was not under the impression they had opened exports...

They also charge $10 for a "sexing fee" ROFL....

The talk is that they are smuggled out to South Africa then shipped from areas that allow exports. I assume under the wrong (legal) labels.

I joust have received a great Meller from Texas. it is in better condition than the last year, big, eating and drinking right away from the sipped bag. may be they come from Cameroon, or some of the Tanzania neighbors, will be good asking a to the web sellers check at Kingsnake.com

I just got a bunch of tanzania stuff in but did not import it directly. Not sure how it came out but it was through a fairly reputable importer so I would think that some animals made it out legally. We have T. montiums, R. brevicaudatus, and several other herp species native to Uluguru/Usumbara. Before anyone asks I work for a wholesaler that only sells to pet shops, so no I don't have them for sale.

Everything that everybody has came from 2 LG shipments. Will they come in like they used to? I dont think so... Buy pairs and help to establish them so we dont need WC's!

The Mellers came from Mozambique, and Tanzania is clearing out all their Non-CITES quota to make room for new quota. Mostly Insects and Bugs, but a few Reptiles have come out. No CITES species have come out of Tanzania yet. There is a different excuse every week, but they will open back up sooner than later. Most of the Politics have been waded through, the Farms have been inspected, so it is only a matter of time before new quota is issued........

Nevermind . I thought they were listed. As either Appendix | or ||. But it's "strongly reccomended" and no actually legislation .

Williamsi are a completely different story. Who ever is stupid enough to admit to bringing in wild caught Williamsi is just looking to be a USFW target.......There are a few farms that have F1 quota for Williamsi the same way they do the Chameleons, which may be how they came in......

These were admitted to being WC. And this was as recent as this week. I have since seen 4-5 other vendors that have them ( 2 of which have taken their adds down). I have been searching for CB females for months now and ALL i seem to find are WC specimens.

I was also under the impression that L.williamsi were NEVER in history listed to be exported . They were ALL smuggled under allowed Lygodactlus species. Everyone with CB specimens can date theirs back to smuggled animals (sadly, including my group). I try to not contribute by purchasing WC williamsi

Every year the uk gets imports of chams around July time. This time we had mellerii, flap necks, high casqued and two species of jackons. I also know of a uk lost with wc electric blues too.
