are there any "bases" out there for a 24x24x48 cage? looking for some ideas

thanks
If you have a place near you called, ReStore, you might find an old kitchen or bathroom cabinet. Use that as your base, and it'll have storage underneath, plus drainage.

I saw someone else use cheap, plastic drawers from Walmart, They cut drain holes and just pull out the drawer to dump water.

Just finished the set up of new cage, installed Dragon Strand Ledges, made our own drainage, mistking mister....he's loving it already

My two set ups for a pair of Hoehnelii (who are on their way to me). Neither is completely finished. Both need lighting changes and left ones background is in the mail. Generous mix of real and fake plants until the real ones fill in. Happy to see I'm not the only one with an affinity for those tan/white twisted sticks.

Karlia,

Get rid of that bark substrate, although Hoehnelii are small i can already see a bit of that getting ingested. Try going with a home made soil layer and add some microfauna.

Thank you for the suggestion! There is a layer of soil under the bark, and then there will be a layer of river rocks across the top to prevent ingestion. Microfauna are already present. I know it seems a bit backwards, but I read about others doing it with success, so I hope it works for me. Unfortunately it was several months ago and I can't remember where I read it.
