The rescue jax doing well :)

Just an update for you guys wondering how the jax is doing.

It's day 2 and he has drank not only off of leaves but also off of the mister itself. :) He is not a shy boy.

He walks very slow around me, sometimes "hides" behind the branch he is already on, but does not change color or seem to be very afraid.

He readily drank. And I also got to witness his first try at a little cricket :)

So he's already drinking and eating.

Yay!

Also, does anyone else absolutely LOVE jackson's back legs? They look more webbed than other species of chameleons back legs.

You did a good thing - good luck with him-

Thank you.

Thanks for the luck too :( He fell off a branch! He made a little thud but I think he will be okay. I picked him up and held him a while to see if anything had broken, I think he is okay.

I didn't want to hold him again till he was comfortable with me, but I had to. :( I can't watch him crawl around on the floor of the cage, he grabbed right onto my finger.

He was cold, so my next step is getting a little heat lamp for him.. He needs it ASAP.

So nice to see this guy is doing well. After having my own experience trying to rescue a cham I really love to see success. Keep up the good work!

I think every part of them is adorable!
How come yours is cold? Mine lives outside, and has already gone to bed, LOL!
How did you manage to post the video? I joined vimeo, and they wanted $, so I tried youtube, but it didn't work. Whay is this crap so tedious? I want to post stuff, but don't feel like fighting technology to do it. Sigh

If you make an account on youtube(you can use gmail) you should have no problem uploading a video, if your more specific about your problem maybe I can help you figure it out

I am trying very hard to keep every aspect of his environment perfect for the little guy on this short notice (can't go out and make a 400$ stand and light setup in 2 days can I? Monty has a luxury but the baby doesn't).

Mine is just cold because he does not have a basking light yet.

You can pick up a dome light from a big box hardware store for about $6. Add a regular incandescent bulb and you'll be set. :) He's adorable.

More pics. He is walking around, exploring, and drinking. :)

He also pooped. :D It is healthy poop.

Here he is exploring

Yep, we will pick up a quick dome or two (for the uvb I havent used. I'm stealing my beardie's uvb, and for the time being he will be fine. just a couple days or until tomorrow he will go without uvb. also we take him out frequently so it won't be an issue) tomorrow.

Very cheap ones, and then a regular old 60 watt bulb. the 60 watt gives basking spots for my veiled, so there's no doubt I'll get at least 80 degrees for the little guy out of it. :)

OMG, the little stubby horns are too cute! I'm glad he's happy and doing well.

Yes, they are just so adorable. I might as well just keep him, but I don't know if I really can. :(

He is doing amazingly for the first couple of days. monty wouldn't even want anything to do with me. This guy is drinking from my spray bottle and I suspect he is hunting already.

He is just a doll.....thank you so much for all that you have done for him.....I don't think he could be in better hands.

Aww no problem. I could NOT sit there and know he was in that gross cage :(

Here he is before bed time. He shot at a bug for me! Second day, too. Already eating, drinking, pooping.
