This makes me so sad/angry

There is an excuse. Up until about a year ago, I had no internet. Some people just don't live in the area for internet - I am paying 80$+ a month for internet, compared to someone who lives closer to the "business" area of the city who would pay something like 20$ a month for what I am using. Granted, yes, I can take the internet wherever I want to with my Sprint internet card, but some people just can't afford it! So there is an excuse, for some.

Well I guess this does cause some problems.....but if you really want to know how to take care of an animal you will find a way.....

I did find a way... 80$ later... :D Of course this is no excuse for people selling on CL, being internet based, unless they had a friend do it.

Believe it or not the library closest to me does not have a single book about chameleons, does not have internet unless you are willing to pay extra PER MONTH to use it, and most of the time they're used up. (Of course they call this a donation, and if you don't pay it you find yourself being kicked off 5 minutes OR LESS after using the computer).

In smaller cities, it's harder to find ways to get information.

I dont doubt it about finding proper info in hardback, but most libraries do have the net these days..and people usually know someone or have it at work or school. I mean, we have people on this forum from all over the world! I understand that people find a cham, hey this is a cool lizard, think ill throw it in a tank and chuck some crickets at it.. If they ran wild I could see that and yes, I could see them dying..rapidly. But that dude posted it on CL which is on the internet? LOL. Doesn't matter... The cham will either die in his care and he will just throw it aside and be more pissed that he didnt make a buck off of it or someone will buy it and it will die.. I have noticed that once chams go downhill, its a quick trip unless caught immediately... And most people dont understand how fragile these creatures are.. I took a shot and failed..and this forum can be downright cruel when you need it the most..Everyone has to learn at some point.. Even if you studied it for 10 yrs before getting a cham, you would still need to get it physically right and there are things beyond human control that could cause everything to go haywire. I wish people would step back and see that.. Believe me, it hurts to be on the crap end of the stick..even by complete strangers.

Hey OP< what did you say in your email? Wonder if he even checked the site out...

I have no idea if he checked it out or not. I just told him that his setup for his chameleon could use a lot of work and gave him the link. I hope he at least checked it out and got something out of it.

Well I went ahead and emailed him too:
Hi. We are hoping that you will consider keeping your chameleon and learning how to properly care for him. He is quite sickly looking and its unfair for someone to buy him and have him die within a few weeks. How about joining us at www.chameleonforums.com ? You will learn the proper setup and perhaps save your chameleons life. Its a joy to have these creatures in our homes if the proper measurements are taken. We are hoping you will reconsider as this animal is in dire need of an environmental change or it will die a slow agonizing death. Thank You, black Betty.

Maybe a tad dramatic but very likely...

We shall see.. But how can you not tell that the animal looks ill? Its so thin..I hope he is just not someone out to make a buck before it keels over. Many people buy these as pets for their kids (not the greatest idea but nonetheless) and the kid will feel awful if his new pet dies on him so quickly and without knowledge/warning as to why. In this case, Ignorance is NOT bliss.

the pics are old from when i got him. he's in great shape acording to the vet. why do you say he's not?
he has 8inch topper of free air on a 29 gal tank. a free branch in living room where he is most of the time.
also 3 misters in his tank on timer for three times a day with a river for high humidity all day. so what ever
i need to move thats why he needs to go.
