I reckon it needs to be a little bigger. If its the exact size of the enclosure then will the enclosure not just sit on the rim? And will that not be a bit unstable? Our drip tray has just over an inch clearance all the way round :)

That's what I was afraid of, but the next size up is 36x30. Dangit... :mad: Where did you find your drip tray??

My little bro works in a moulding workshop so he made me a custom one with a hole in the corner to drain.

Any acrylic factories near you? Don't think it would cost too much.

:D it would probably cost the equivalent of six bottles of JD's finest to ship you something that size! Mines only cost me one :)

The rim of the pan is about 3/8" rolled. The pan measures about 23 7/8" at the outermost width. I had two ideas when I built my cage: 1) build the enclosure around the pan (which I did) or 2) build a 3" or 4" frame under the cage and slide the pan in that frame, under the cage. That meant I'd have to drill holes in the wood floor and I was not ready to try that. However, I have to slide the pan out once a week to empty it. That has become quite a little chore, so I'm thinking of putting a drain line in the pan with a line attached and a plug so I can just drain it into a bucket when I feel like it. The pan is fairly strong. I think it might hold the weight of a set up but it's hard to say how long it could last. I don't think that would be the best way to go.

U will find ur answer there. I recommend the 30x30. Little pricey yes but it'll catch alll drips.. and lll reptiles cage measures up to an inch over 24" all the way around outside.. I don't remember exact. But I remember 25 1/2" being my minimum tray size in either direction.. good luck

Well the 24 in was just what I was looking for my reptibreeze 24x24x48 cage. I planned to put it inside and place a hole on the side and use a plumbing adapter connected to clear tubing to drain under a table? Why would you go bigger? To sit the cage down inside it? I never though of that as a option.


I was planning to do something like this with the drain pan on the inside of the cage. I would have to make a small incision into the cage wiring at the bottom of the cage them all of the chams droppings and pee would flow right out into the 5gal bucket I have under the stand.

Are you sure that it'll fit INSIDE? I think it may just be too big to sit inside and too small to set the cage on. Let me know if you try. The plan was to place the cage on some raisers inside the bin.

Well the bottom of the cage is literally a 24x24 square. And the white plastic bottom should allow for me to sit it on top seeing that it is a 24x24 drip pan. That what it rests on the bottom of the cage. It is not meant to replace the bottom plastic panel. From there I will then get a pvc connector and clear tubing where I will then puncture a small hole through the back on the cage where the connector and tube will connect to the new drip pan. From there the water will run directly into a bucket. There is a tractor supply like 10 minutes away from me. I will be going there tomorrow. Will inform once I get it home.

I get what you're saying. It sounds good in theory, I just think it'll be too big to fit inside. I just found this on their site and I could probably just get the cage inside of it:

I can make that work. That wont be difficult.

Edit...may of lied on that. I will find out tomorrow. I will be taking the inner panel with me and I will figure out something.
