Trioceros johnstoni bwindi

Ok guys the big moment arrived:D
I'm just back from the airport and gave the box to the wildlife shipping,tomorrow morning they go on the plain .
I handpicked the animals together with my importer and they look FANTASTIC!
A few females dropped eggs the last days so they are not gravid(i try to put the eggs back but no luck:rolleyes:
So 90%of the females are gravid,some females have so many eggs in them it was difficult for them to hold a branch(looks like a watermelon ha ha)
I put in 18.19 johnstonii(50%Bwindi,50%Rwenzori)and because you are all waiting for so long i picked out one special pair(giant Virunga morph)these ssp is extreme rare,the have incredible long horns and an incense coloration(value 4000$ a pair) so that's for the lucky winner:)
I personally would give these to Biffle because he stared this threat and waited for so long;)
So they are on the road for a 36h run to the US;
From than on its in Paul hands,he got to put all animals separated to avoid stress(specially males don't drink or eat when housed together(i hope he got 50 terrarium's)
I also send 4.5 hoehnelli Altaeelgonis(would be the only pairs in the US)
Ok from now on its out of my Hands,good luck;)

What? No pics of the Virunga? I don't even know what that is lol! I agree, send them to Biffle! ;)

Wooohoooo!:D:eek::D:eek::D:):)

I feel like I'm 12 years old and it's Christmas time!!! There will be no sleep for me until these guys are tucked into their cages eating BB flies!

Thank you soooo much for making this happen and doing it with their health as the main focus! It's really appreciated Jurgen! I know your efforts will translate into a good start at a solid breeding population.

I will be uploading Gigs of pictures from day #1.

:eek::eek:Wooohoooo!:eek:

I wish i had the money for all those hoe's! Glad to see you guys are getting your shipment. Dont put it on the curb...Check them poo's out ASAP!

If taken out of context, this comment could be horribly misconstrued.

I seriously doubt that you will see this group putting any hoes on curbs.

Any word on the shipping from all this happening? :confused:
Not sure what you mean exactly, but I received them today. I will be keeping most of them for a few days before shipping them out unless you have forced me to ship them to you this week (you know who you are lol):D

The Virunga pair are going to to Biffle. I spotted this pair right away. They were different from the rest and HUGE! The males horns look like mammoth tusks lol and the female is a behemoth.

Great to watch this shipment finally happen! After almost a year in the works the word concern was not going to cover the attmosphere. Good luck with those gravid females.

I'm very glad also:) i know it took a crazy long time before they came but it was not all in my hands....
First the commission that took 9 months before giving paperwork than waiting before every one paid than it was New year,than it was to cold ...Jesus i learned a loth.
Only offer animals we have already in stock and some other details.
You guys have tons of gravid females nake care of them and build up a nice breeding program.
Uganda is closed for export so you guys have the very last shipment,prices of these guys will only go up(or double) work good together and i wish you all the luck(they are not longer in my but in your hands;)
Don't forget the treatment for parasites(very important)
Success guys!!!

10 months of waiting culminated into one sleepless night. I can't seem to convince myself that I don't need to check the forum every hour. I'm just too dang excited!

I've already picked out a name for the big Virunga male. He will be known as Darrell Johnstoni. 90's erra Cowboy fans will know the reference.

Moose!! When are you getting yours Jason?

I absolutely promise to overload you with pictures. I'm going to try to exceed my 10 gig monthly limit on data for the month of March. I hope that AT&T's uploading is ready for this fire hose.

Jason

I can't wait to see pics, especially of the virunga!

I personally would not rush things and let these guys recover for some days.
They traveled a loth from Uganda to Holland,from Holland to Belgium,From Belgium to the US and than again shipping...( i guess not many people travel so much):rolleyes:
Also note they will not have they flashy colors from day one because all the travel they will have their stress colors(brown)they will start color after they are settled in their new homes(after some days/weeks).
Also the use of medicens i would not do after they are acclimatised in their new homes(one to two weeks)
Just some advice off course your free to do what you want...

You are suggesting waiting a week or 2 before starting panacure so they are not stressed during the treatment?

Also for food the LOVE horn worms and silks they are very nutritious and have lots of moist,off course gut load crickets and small locusts are never bad.
2 times a day misting and a dripper are also important.
