Trioceros johnstoni bwindi

The female Virunga came out as big as a house! She is in her cage playing with dirt now.

The male Bwindi was much smaller than the Virunga. He is looking good and drinking already.

The female Bwindi came out with her eyes closed but opened them right after warming up.

Good luck all. Been following this for a while. I had a pair about 14 years ago. They are indeed beautiful creatures.

Holy crap, Biffle, that gal is huge! :D

I hope everyone has excellent luck with their beautiful new animals. Crossing my fingers that there will be lots and lots of babies! :)

I'm really glad that many of them finally get in to there home:)
They all look very nice, several are shedding so they need a good uv spot(In Europe we have good results with Zoomet 100w bulbs)
I wish you all the best with the animals and hopefully we can see some baby johnstonii's this summer;)

It is great to see these arrive, Biffle started this thread almost a year ago and looking at the Virunga male, well today had to have been better than Christmas. I have major cham envy today!

ahhh ha! The pressure is off Jurgen and on us!

I hope I do as good as you did sir. I've got laying bins setup and ready!

Here are some pics of mine 30 min in the cage. Male has already eaten like a pig and the female is sitting in a basking spot acting, well, very gravid!!

Funny cuz this is the exact female that would bask all day long under her spotlight. She knows what she likes!

I have been following this thread for months. I'm so happy we have this species in the US again and with so many good keepers. I can't wait to buy captive born babies off of someone in time. Best of luck!

I know you're at 434 posts on this thread and I may have missed one or two posts, but...

What's the correct pronunciation of bwindi?

Bee-windy
Bwin-dye
Bwin-dee
Bee-win-dye
Bee-win-dee
Or????

Lol.

Thanks Jason,if she is gravid it's not far along. I can see the gravid look from some different views but only time will tell. These pictures were within minutes out of the box so I'm happy. Both male and female have eaten 4-5 silkworms as well as a few crickets now and have moved in to the basking spot. The male is already starting to color up so I will take more Picts later and post them.
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO it's good to have them here!!!!! :D

Great To Hear Steve, once nicely settled in they will show a loth more intense coloration(in the sun they explode lol)
They have a long gestation time about 4 months,if she isn't gravid no problem put them together and they will do their homework:D
