so my panther has been eating EVERYTHING literately. iv'e had a problem keeping humidity up (Its at 45-50%) and i think this may be a part of the problem. so the serious issue is that today i walked in my room and i saw my panther cham eating a big chunk of moss i tried to take it out but he moves away when i try to grab him and the moss was already almost all in his mouth and down his throat. someone plzz tell me if i should be worried about this!
Is this something i should be worried about?!?:confused:

Definitely remove the moss from the enclosure altogether. He could get impacted and that's no good!

My Veiled has eaten a little dirt in the past, but he didn't have any problems. I wouldn't be extremely worried if he's already downed some--just make sure to avoid ever letting him do it again. Also, watch for ANY signs of impaction or anything else...

However, it is pretty normal for chameleons to try and eat things they shouldn't ;P But that doesn't mean we let them! :)

Can you post some pictures of your enclosure and your chameleon?

If it's just a little sphagnum moss or the normal green moss they sell at pet stores I think he will probably be just fine. A healthy, well-hydrated animal can pass a lot more than people think, and something like moss is probably not going to be difficult to pass, unless by some bad luck he are a piece attached to a little bark or a bit of stick.

If he were mine I would just keep misting him often like usually and just watch him.
