Update on Pascal

Hey guys, so there as been no change in Pascal. He still hasn't passed any poop or urates. It will be a full month on the 6th since his last one. He is on oral Cisapride and Metacam for pain. Overall, he seems ok. However, if you watch him he still is having trouble gripping with his back legs. He also isn't eating the greatest. Yesterday he start to shed only on his tail. I have been to the vet twice now with him and we will go back a third time on Monday. On Monday they plan to do an ultrasound to see if there is sign of liver or kidney damage. Also check for masses/etc. Every day I pray he poops. My vet still is thinking along the lines of fecal impaction, but for some reason my guy is telling me it is something more serious. I am so worried about my little guy. I have done everything everyone and my vet suggested. Keep praying guys. Sorry for the long post.

Thank you. We have not blood work yet. Normally finances aren't a issue, but my husband lost his job June 20th and money has been tight. We have two girls, 2 dogs, two blue tongue skinks, and Pascal. So we are taking it step by step. My vet thinks she will see what she needs to see without doing blood work and just doing the ultrasound first. So we will see. Trust me, I may just push to do blood work on Monday. My gut is usually never wrong with my pets. My gut is telling me something else is up with him.
I pray this time I am wrong though.

Normally, my vet does x-rays, then blood work and then untrasound if the x-ray and blood work doesn't give him answers. I'm not sure what your vets charges but blood work here is much cheaper than ultrasound or MRI.

I had a similar issue. I have my mistking set for (2) 20 minute mistings + (3) 5-8 minute and after 5 days he pooped. Only half of his enclosure gets misted and it's dry b4 bedtime.

Hydration is key to and I believe helped him through this rough patch.

Best of luck!
